We stayed nine days and it was so nice. Perfect poolarea and a lot to do around Saint Pons. It was very good to have ability to have a barbecue.
We stayed at this site for 4 nights in our 7m motorhome. Friendly greeting by the owner and allowed to choose own pitch. \'Best\' pitches at bottom of site all taken but a good choice of others in sun and shade but some with low cherry trees limiting access. Facilities being refurbished to a good standard but some poor design aspects leading to wet floors. Only just starting up snack bar and had delicious pizzas but only a limited choice of drinks. The site is superbly located for easy access to the Passa Pais old railway track which can be walked or cycled almost 40km in either direction for great trips. Owner also loans out detailed walking maps and routes which is great and saves buying several local large scale maps necessary to explore the surrounding National Park area. Owner seems to be trying really hard to get site ready for the high season but we got the feeling he was taking on a bit too much and attention to detail was suffering when we visited.
Stayed here for 4 nights in our motorhome in variable and largely indifferent weather. Allowed to select own pitch from those free (but most desirable in sun and away from road) unsurprisingly all taken. New facilities not quite finished but in use and clean with plenty of hot water for showers and washing up. Didn\'t use pool but looked great for the few who did. Wifi included with ACSI card which was a bonus though system struggled to provide a good service at peak times.
Location excellent for accessing the central point of the \'voie verte\' cycle/pathway running east/west across southern Herault. This provides great walking and cycling opportunities to local towns in a very easy way off any public roads. Campsite provides excellent maps/walks info as well.
Overall a good site which the owners are constantly improving.
Our second visit to this site. Lovely quiet site with interesting views. Friendly helpful staff. We were supplied with a very helpful booklet with oodles of information.
Facilities very clean and well maintained. The chemical disposal point is a bit basic but no problem.
Nice pool area.
Pitches are pretty large, most have a water tap.
As others have said the Voie Vert is just across the road for cycling and walking. The coast is a short drive away, as are the mountains with wonderful views and sports opportunities.
I felt that WiFi was a bit expensive.
Much better than staying at the coast.
A delightful site. Friendly and informative hosts who produced a very detailed handbook of the site and surroundings. Lots of lovely walks and pretty villages to visit. Would definitely return
Possibly the very best site we have ever enjoyed in France. It is stunningly beautiful. The pitches are generous and divided with hedges about two metres high offering plenty of privacy. There is an abundance of lovely trees, mainly old cherry trees. Walks along the old railway line opposite are a delight. The staff are very polite, warm and helpful. They were generous in speaking French slowly for my benefit though they speak English for those who struggle with French. There is one negative point about this site which is that it has the most unusual WC chemical disposal point I have ever seen. At first it seemed impossible to use. After a few days another caravanned showed me that you can remove the drain cover making emptying easier. Other people staying there were wondering why ACSI had passed the WC disposal as being acceptable.
A lovely campsite. A short walk from the campsite gates (less than 100 m) takes you into la voie verte ( a decommissioned railway line): good for walking or cycling. Hang a left on the voie verte and it's a short walk into St Pons, which has most of the shops you'll need: butchers, bakers, small supermarkets, cafes. Turn right on the voie verte and it's a slightly longer walk to Riol where you'll find a boulangerie that has wood fired bread ovens. The smell of freshly baked bread and wood smoke is divine. We plan to stay here for a while in 2016.
We found this campsite quite by accident. Couldn't have been luckier. The staff are great, very accommodating and helpful. The site is quiet and pitches are spacious and private. Local supermarket just a few minutes drive down the road. I do agree with an earlier comment that the chemical waste is very basic. This didn't distract from our enjoyment and a definite place to return to.
An excellent campsite within walking distance of the town along the green verte (actually the old railway track and you can walk or cycle miles along it). Town interesting but suffers with dog poo. Site has very friendly staff, hot showers and washing up water, all very clean including the pool where you could swim and enjoy the hills all around. This site must have the best camping guide ever not just showing the pitches but many places of interest in the area.
