Currently at the Charlemagne. The site is very much as the brief describes.
Toilet facilities immaculate and regularly cleaned, pitches fully serviced pool large clean and inviting although outdoor not heated. Shop, restaurants and bar on doorstep.
All facilities are similar maintained on the other 2 group sites as well. Cannot fault.
Have extended or stay because of the excellent quality of the sites.
Friends live locally, so stayed to give us a base. Big site in a group of three from the same company. You are able to us all facilities. Whatever you want is here, and all to a very good standard. Town is blackpoolish, but there are loads of things to do, and shops and restaurants give great choices. Riding out on bikes is a joy. Will use again
A very well run site indeed! Bread available on site and just outside the gate. Indoor (heated) and outdoor pools. Small supermarket just outside the gate, plenty of bars restaurants in easy walking distance. Marseillan Plage is a bit “Kiss me quick” for our liking but no-one says you must visit it! The nearby Marseillan town is simply delightful and well worth a visit. We had the most fabulous Bouillabaisse on the quaint quay. Plus the Noilly Pratt distillery is just off the quay (They charge for tours but entry to the shop is free). Spotless toilets and showers. The showers can be a little “fickle” nice and hot until someone starts using the next shower along at which point yours can go a fair bit cooler, but not in all showers (odd but true) A variety of pitch sizes, most with a fair bit of shade (but not all) On arrival you are advised to park and then select your pitch, now here’s the IMPORTANT information! The access roads are narrow but just wide enough, HOWEVER many of the corners are VERY sharp/tight indeed (on some I could only just get round them on full lock with no caravan) so (if you have a caravan) once you have selected a pitch you need to very carefully work out the best way to get to it! Walk the route back to where you are parked, don’t assume the next corner is like the previous one. I didn’t and ended up having to detach my caravan, drive round the corner, use the motor mover to get the caravan round the corner, hitch up and go to the next corner and do the same again. Yes really some are THAT sharp so you need to do your recce very carefully. You will also need a motor-mover to get onto most pitches as the access roads are simply not wide enough to reverse and turn whilst hitched up. The pitches are of a decent size but are very sandy/dusty so an awning mat is pretty much essential. The other side of the road is a “sister” site where all of the facilities (beach bar, restaurant, snack bar, takeaway, pool etc) are available to you. This is a pretty peaceful site (well it was Mid June 2018 when it was 28-30* most days) Would we return? Yes, BUT I would suss out the route to my pitch MUCH more carefully. We did look at some of the nearby sites, this one is worth the extra few Euro. It was full to capacity over the weekend we were there in mid June (pretty normal according to the multi lingual staff) so either book in advance or turn up on a weekday.
A lovely site, good well stocked shop and fresh bread from early morning. The private beach allows dogs on, which was handy, If you don't want to go to the beach, head to the fantastic on-site pool (make sure you're wearing proper swimming trunks or the pool police will evict you, appropriate trunks are sold down the road at inflated prices) This site is linked with other sites owned by the same group, so any of them can be visited to access their facilities and entertainments. Staff here were great, multilingual and really friendly.
All the pitches are serviced, reasonable sized but very sandy - wish I'd brought a carpet for the awning!! There are some good cycle routes from the site - easy to get to the harbour and town.
The approach routes inside the site are very narrow, if you can, find a pitch before driving to it.
Stayed 10 nights on this relaxed campsite, facilities well maintained and always clean. Good access to beach and cycle routes, but highlight was the excellent swimming pools. Staff mainly very friendly although on arrival the staff member was rather abrupt.
Great campsite, really good value, and great beaches. The local town is very good too, plenty of shops, restaurants, and things to do and explore. This was our third visit - which speaks volumes as we usually want to find new pastures.
Pitches vary in size surrounded by hedges. Mid May two toilet blocks closed. Could only find one elsan empty point for campsite. Large rubbish bins were full during our stay and the overflow on floor could have filled several more. Despite using cream we were bitten several times and after two nights disturbed sleep due to insect bites we moved to another site. The free Wi-Fi amounted to 30 minutes every 6 hours at a central point. Handy access to wonderful beach through sister site across the road.
