This is a very busy campsite and apparently with new owners who are putting a lot of effort to improve the site. Well it may have a new toilet block, but the showers and washing up water were stone cold. The site is generally untidy with huge weeds growing between pitches. The electrical hook ups were like a third world leaning all over the place and with extension leads running all everywhere to reach pitches a long way off. The pitches were ill defined and one had a huge pothole filled with rubble. The railway at the back was noisy and the view of the rusting tanks hardly panoramic. The worse thing however, is the sewage works just outside the front of the site. Fortunately we were down wind of it, but every time we walked passed it you had a strong whiff of sewage. A real shame as the campsite is close to the canal de midi with a really nice town. The campsite may be work in progress, but there is a lot if work needed and not much progress.
Very poor, apart from helpful staff on reception. Heated winter block but no hot water in showers, and nothing to clean muddy floors. Avoided the more muddy touring pitches in favour of slightly better patch of grass. Comparatively expensive and extremely disappointing. Definitely a one night stand.
We went to reception having booked a pitch we expected to have at least a reasonable one but were told to go to one nearest the noisy railway track which we declined. The rude response was one word 'WAIT'. We eventually picked a pitch we had used on a previous visit but were told that we could only stay 10 days not 14 that we had received confirmation of. The drain beneath a drinking water tap opposite to the pitch was blocked and the water had run run onto the pathway for so long green slime covered a 2 mt sq area. Although there were 6 toilet cubicles 3 were shut off all the time we were there with no attempt to fix them. After 1 week the toilet area had excrement coming up out of the drains all day and it was not blocked off so children walked through it. Many people we spoke to said how bad the place was. We stayed there 4 times with the previous owner but we will NEVER stay there again. The worst site we have ever stayed on anywhere in europe.
We found this site rather scruffy, not helped by the fact that they were building a new reception. Some pitches were of a reasonable size but others were small and very close together. The site is open all year and it appeared that some of the accommodation was residential. The sanitary block was clean. There is a heated section with three rooms each containing a toilet, shower and basin but it was a bit smelly. There is a railway depot next to the site and a high-speed line runs past. We found the noise somewhat intrusive.
It is a shortish walk to the Canal du Midi and the attractive village of Colombiers with a couple of good restaurants and a small supermarket.
Good stop off site, nice for a walk along the canal du midi, pleasant village. Wifi intermittent but free.
A good find, near to a village to walk to for the basics, near to the canal du midi for a walk with the dog. Good facilities, pleasant and friendly staff. Some pitches could do with a tidy up, very rough ground. Will definitely be re visiting.
Nice site within walking distance of Colombiers on the Canal du Midi. Flat pitches and good swimming pool. Limited choice at restaurant but good food and reasonable value.
We stayed for 7 nights. Can\'t comment restaurant bar or pool as all closed. Toilets were clean but no seats on the pans and one day no paper at all. The access road was very narrow for a 14 metre twin axle outfit and we had to unhitch from the car and motimove round one of the corners just inside the barrier to get to our pitch. It was unfortunately seed dropping season from the trees and it settled everywhere like snow inside and outside the caravan. well situated for the train station at Beziers for Caracassonne and Narbonne. Good walks along the canals too. Don\'t use sat nav to get there, follow site directions.
This is a good stopover point, staff were very helpful and informative. We actually stayed 6 nights. Not a large site which suited us. The toilet block was cleaned daily. Shower temperature was variable but not an issue as the weather was very hot and there is a winter block which we did not use. The pool is next to the bar and patio as is the children's play area. The kids there were enjoying themselves. Only used free wifi, which was a little slow. Note that although the campsite is near a railway line it did not bother us (in fact did not hear the trains at night). We cannot properly score camp Accommodation, sports facilities or entertainment as we did not use them because we spent the days cycling along the nearby Canal du Midi.
We went to this site in late September, This site is close to the Canal De Midi, there is a lovely bakery in the village, if there\'s non available on site, the pitches are not over large we had two 7 metre motor homes and didn\'t have problems, the site doesn\'t look good when you arrive but the new owners are doing a great job, some of the reception staff didn\'t speak English but we booked in and between us everything was clear, the bar/restaurant wasn\'t open when we were there, some say good overnight but there\'s loads to do in the area so maybe stay longer, we will be back.
