A great campsite, quiet and friendly. Only a few touring pitches. Excellent swimming pool. Supermarket and fruit stalls close by. Right next door is an excellent bar and restaurant, Le Troll. The proprietor is a beer enthusiast, so there is an amazing selection of beers available. Easy cycling from the camp to Grau d\'Agde or inland to Agde. Don\'t miss the circular lock on the Canal du Midi which runs through here. Agde has a good street market.
We said we would revisit this site and it is every bit as good as our first visit. Staff extremely helpfull and facilities still good. Stayed 7 nights paid for 6 excellent value for money. However since our last visit some 4 years ago there are even more mobile homes so there are only 16 touring pitches. This is a very popular site and because of the few touring pitches it was full two nights even in June. You may need to consider checking in advance if pitches available.
This site sets standards that others should hope to achieve. Toilets and showers all ways clean, laundry facilities and fantastic well looked after swimming pool. Tavern du Troll is a bar restaurant next door run by a nice friendly couple.
Lovely, quiet campsite. Friendly staff who speak good English. A small site with an uncrowded pool. Bar and pizza place next door.
A short bike ride or walk to Lidl and hypermarket.
Agde Grau is great for watersports; beach and a few restaurants/bars, a short bike ride from site. Cap d\'Agde is a bit further, with lots of shops and big Saturday market, plus beaches and beach bars.
Some people said the resident hoopoe calling woke them in the early hours. We didn\'t hear it, however!
We shall return. Thanks for a lovely stay.
We were told about this site by someone we met at a previous campsite and they told us they stayed there every year so we thought we would give it a try. Frankly we were surprised at just what good value this site was. There are a limited number of places for tourers however the facilities are well maintained, site staff were pleasant and helpful, wifi was ok and the pool very good indeed. The site is slightly off the beaten track however there are cycle routes from it, the bus stop is outside (and cheap) and a largish Lidl just up the road. We\'d go back again.
Having read some of the other reports I wondered if we were on the same campsite. True there are not many pitches, but they are conveniently set close to the superb toilet block. True there were not very many toilets, but there were sufficient toilets and showers all of which for scrupulously clean and, just like the washing up water hot, for the number of pitches. The staff were friendly and helpful. True the road was close, but by late evening the noise was very little. The swimming pool was also impeccable clean. This campsite offers very good long stay deals. We spoke to the campers near us and all thought like us this campsite was good value for money. We were only there for one night, but this is one campsite we will return to for a longer stay.
We chose a shady site next to the swimming pool and were chased into caravan by swarms of Mosquitoes.
THIS IS NOT A 4* (four star) SITE. Limited number of touring pitches, not huge. Only 4 toilets, only thin barrier between. Mixed block, which if a decent size I don't mind but this was so small. Good beach nearby and supermarket. Shame about the toilet block. Won't go again.
A bright, clean, welcoming reception area with very helpful staff who speak English. Shower block was warm. Water was hot, but they are mixed as are the toilets next to the shower block. Both immaculately clean. Pitch was big and level with own water and electricity. Wifi free and available in the van. Bakery next door for superb bread. 15 minute walk to wide, clean, sandy beach. Range of supermarkets within 2 miles. Lots to do in the area including a large aquapark. Site 2 minutes off dual carriageway and easy to find.
This campsite felt verys small. It in fact only has a limited number of pitches for camping, and as I had asked for a quiet pitch reserved for my anticipated 3 week stay, I was disapointed to have been allocated a very public feeling one close to the road & in quite a busy area of the site. I chose another pitch at the very back of the site. The staff were only just friendly enough for my liking. The mosquitos were appalling... It was impossible to sit out at any time of the day, although this phenomena might have been only a problem at the back of the site.
The swimming pool looked lovely, but we didn't use it. The whole area felt quite cheap & industrial to us (one of the reasons we moved on after 5 days). The toilet facilities were good (the usual shuttered showers with a button you need to keep pressing), as was car access to supermarkets.
There is a very good baker right next door to the site.
Not our thing, but might suit young active families.
