Travelling party: Couple

Have stayed at the Avignon town campsites but over the years these have become overgrown and have dated facilities. Opted this trip for this site 6km from Avignon.
It’s in an isolated position but spacious. First impressions were not good, even though it’s a big site your’e not allowed in on arrival. We were directed to some waste land down the road. Reception and check in was tiresomely slow and bureaucratic with a long queue. We stayed for 2 nights and didn’t get an invoice. The camping area looked unkempt, we were allocated a sloping site not that suitable for a motorhome but I was able to change it without any problems. The camping area was dark at night, only a few lights and none on our road. There has obviously been a lot of investment made in this site but perhaps a bit too much on the website and language specific guide. The Toilet block was well appointed but basin taps were motion sensitive, one didn’t work at all, another gave only cold water and the shower I tried only gave extremely hot water. It’s a big site and the only waste disposal is at the recycling centre at the entrance - a good walk away. This meant some just left waste bags outside their unit or used the incidental small waste bins by the shop or cafe. All were overflowing and had not been emptied. There is still considerable work going on which again adds to the feeling that it might be better when it’s finished. There is a working Restaurant which has a limited menu. Unfortunately it’s connected to the entertainment. Although not to our taste, which I accept, it didn’t seem to be to anyone’s else’s either. However we all had to endure it at the camping area, but it did finish at a reasonable time.
Generally though it might be worth a re-visit in a few years time.
