Lovely site in woodland setting - scattered pitches with shade, some overlooking the river and within 15 minute walking distance to the Pont du Gard. Very dark on a night and can be tricky locating your motorhome - bring a torch if out late.
Large site with good size pitches offering sun and shade. Choose your own pitch. 1hr free WiFi a day. An 800m walk away from Pont Du Gard.
Lovely wooded site within easy walking distance to Pont Du Gard. Bistro served great pizzas, shop never seemed to be open apart from early morning bread collection time. Biggest annoyance is that none of the pitches are marked so people parked anywhere and even drovecacross our pitch to leave rather that reverse a caravan out. Also in the toilet block nearest us, the shower rooms had not yet been opened in June? If they sorted out the pitch markings it would be a lovely site out of season.
Stopped for two nights to visit Pont du Gard, lovely site in woodland but with some open pitches which were nice off season when you were looking for sun! We didn’t pre-book and could choose our pitch, lovely to be in natural forest rather than military type UK pitches for a change.
Facilities very clean, hot showers, recycling of rubbish, plenty of bins for this.
A short stroll to the Pont du Gard which is well worth the visit, as others have said there is no charge for looking and walking around/over the bridge, we took our bikes and made a round trip back through Remoulins to campsite, the river is stunning, looked so tempting for swimming but probably too cold in April!
Didn’t use the food and drink, but plenty of reasonable food available in their bistro, menu was given to us at reception, and bread to pre-order for the following day if wanted.
Would definitely return, probably early September to swim in that river.
We arrived in the afternoon but we were allocated a pitch, which was large but quite near the toilets. We didn't realise you could chose until we set up then we couldn't be bothered moving. When you walk around the site there are pitches of all types from full sun to full shade. Some in quiet areas and some busy. Not many overlook the river but there are some.
There is a nice shop on site which has most things that you need and the bar serves really nice pizzas I can recommend these. The staff are really friendly and helpful. There is a nice beach on the river which you can paddle and swim from.
I echo previous reviews regarding visiting Pont du gard free to walk in and you can visit anytime and it is amazing. Would definitely stay again.
A great campsite for visiting the Pont du Gard as it's only around 800m from the campsite and completely free to go and see if you are walking and don't want the guided tour of museum. The toilets were not too great but bearable. Swimming pool was good and the pitches were big with water close to the pitch. You only got 1 hour free WiFi though.
Enormous amount of great sized pitches. Shade ? Sun ? Both ? You choose. Ours overlooked the beautiful river. Yes dusty floor, it's the south of France and belting hot ?!! What an peeps expect? Grass ? :o! Adequate loos and yes there are some stand up ones if you want to use. No loo seats but that's the same over most of France and quite frankly, I prefer it; way more hygienic. Security very good. All locked up at night. Restaurant lovely food and reasonable price. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pool lovely. Location - bike ride to little village with restaurants, 5 min walk to Pont du Gard. Incredible. River very accessible with good path and deep enough to properly swim. Deliciously refreshing on a hot day. Has beach area too. Used the camp shuttle for kayaking. Kayak vert collect you take you to put in point. Then return you at the other end. This was fantastic. Only gripe for us is that on the other side of the river is a car park behind trees. loads of banging music for around 6 hours every evening /night, motorbikes too. Worth sticking it tho even if only for a few days. Will defo return :)
Arrived mid afternoon and very efficient booking in process. However, you then have to find your own pitch, some being very haphazard. There are some quite large ones but they are poorly marked out and it can be hazardous manoeuvring among the trees, our van is 7 metres long, anything larger could be in trouble.
The pool is nice but unheated and the showers on entry caught a few out as they are automatic when you enter, whether clothed or not!
A big plus point is the proximity to Pont du Gard, a few minutes walk away. Do not be taken in by the ticket booths, if you walk or cycle by the designated path you are entitled to walk freely around the site, you only need to pay for guided tours or special events. Swimming in the river is a glorious experience on a hot day but a bit chilly st other times.
Easy access to Port Gard Viaduct, large site with clean, toilet and showers. You pay money for the waterpoint to fill campervans, which was strange as there are many waterpoints for filling portable tanks. And of course the hose blew off soaking me while I filled..haha. soon fixed it again tho. Trees over most pitches for shades (some a bit low for campervan). Nice pool, good to see hygiene showers as you go in,tennis and volleyball areas.access down to the river on a dust path. Restaurant on site looked clean and modern. All in, a nice stop over for a couple of days as we tour France. Very nice reception lady also, very helpful.
A lovely campsite which is well run. Sanitary facilities are spotlessly clean. Showers have been updated since our last visit but still too many 'footprint' toilets which are never used. Fantastic area and my personal favourite site anywhere!
