We woke up every day to a new day in paradise, lovely setting, excellent staff, good shop with fresh veg and fruit and served by a very friendly couple. The road to the local supermarket is possible on a e bike but a strenuous climb. We will be back, highly recommended .
We arrived at La Genèse with no expectations as a suitable stop-off where we might spend a few days on our waý from Le Bourg d\'Oisans to the coast near Natbonne. We received a very warm welcome from Monika in Reception and a free choice from plenty of available and good sized pitches and when, after a few days, a riverside pitch became free it was easy to change. The site is ideally situated on the southern bank of the Cèze, facing gorge walls across the river, which is deep enough to swim in yet elsewhere shallow enough to wade across. There are good walks directly from the site up onto the limestone plateau. We actually stayed for 19 nights which reflects how comfortable we felt at La Genèse, particularly as we have never before stayed at one site for more than 10 days in 44 years of caravanning and motorhoming. We enjoyed archery uder Christian\'s expert guidsnce on many mornings, swimming in the warm, clean 18m pool most days and explored many of the walks from the site. There is a very helpful tourist office in Mejannes le Clap. The shop run by Patrice and Sophie is as good and as cheap as the shop in Mejannes and we only shopped off site twice during our stay. There was even an English Sunday Times available at 8am on the Sunday after the EU Referendum! The bar, run by Sebastian and Martine, serves good meals at a very reasonable price Toilets and showers are clean but would benefit from toilet paper and a cleaning mop for the showers. Nimes and the Pont du Gard are within easy reach as are several other towns and picturesque villages. In June we were not troubled by noise from the adjacent campsites across the river. TV signal nil, mobile phone signal poor, camp wifi good but VERY expensive. An ideal site for a restful holiday - we will certainly return.
First naturist campsite for us and wife was quite apprehensive, but everyone at La Genese made our stay a real pleasure. We had a super pitch right by the best bit of the river to swim, at the top end of the Sauvage zone and we spent many a day naked on the sandy beach and swimming in the deep pools on the Ceze river. I wouldn\'t hesitate to return to this site. It is a long steep climb out of the site to the nearest village though, would have been a struggle even on our mountain bikes!
The campsite is in a very peaceful location on the banks of the River in which you and your dog can swim. The pitches however are rather small we felt and crowded. We found a pitch slightly away from the main part of the site which was not too bad. The pitches are very stony indeed, certainly in September when we were there. We weren\\\'t very impressed with the toilet facilities. No toilet paper and in the main site still some of the old fashioned stand up loos. We had a newly built small toilet block which we used, but no hot water so had to walk to the other part for a shower etc and good dog walking. Lovely marked out walks from the campsite. Well stocked convenience store, good bar and facilities even at the end of the season. On our first night (Saturday) we were kept awake until the early hours by very loud music from the adjoining campsite (this could be a problem). Staff pleasant and helpful. Office closed 12 - 14 & no one around between those times. Enjoyable stay.
Beautiful location in oak forest on banks of Ceze river. Can paddle and swim in river or use the excellent pool. Very relaxed attitude and friendly and helpful staff. Although site is large it is broken up into several sections. Some fixed accommodation but this is separate and does not intrude on the camping. Very quiet when we were there in September so can't comment on capacity at busier times. Some distance from towns and villages but worth it for sense of isolation. We will be back.
