We stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting Paris. A very pleasant campsite within a short walking distance to the train station (i would say though looking on some previous reviews about the noise of the trains, what do you expect if you want to camp close to a capital city! It took us around 30 mins to get into central Paris which is great, the noise does get better in the evening as the trains become less frequent, however if you want no noise, go and camp out of the city!). The suburb of Maisons-Laffitte is lovely and within walking distance is a beautiful Chateau de Maisons-Laffitte which you get in for a discounted price with the campsite wristband. The toilet facilities were good, heated and clean. The Staff were very nice and spoke good English. Well worth a night!
After previous reviews we were presently surprised by this site. We received a warm welcome, the pitch overlooked the Seine and although we noticed the train and barge noise it was not disturbing. Frequent trains into Paris were a short walk away and reasonably priced. Maisons Lafitte is a nice town in its own right and the market is well worth a visit. As too is the racecourse especially on a big race day.
Excellent base from which to visit Paris. The site itself is much improved. And Maisons-Laffitte is a nice town with a good supermarket and a good Indian restaurant.
Stopped here for one night in April 2012, on the good side the reception staff are friendly and the toilet facilities are all new, on the bad side the pitches are small, overgrown and in general poor condition and there is only one water filling point on the whole site which is situated near the reception building in my opinion this is not particularly adequate considering the size of the site and could mean a walk of a quarter of a mile to fill your water carrier, there are lots of nicer sites in this region, I wont be returning.
Ideal site for visiting Paris and surrounding area. Staff very helpful and friendly. Toilets/showers clean but could do with a bit of updating! Oh and they don't have toilet seats or toilet paper either :o) Cafe closed but shop was open when we visited.
Overview of site very sad and tired. Toilet facilities although clean there was no toilet paper provided, showers drainage was poor, the waste water from adjoining shower came through and the lenght of time the button push was exceedingly short with poor pressure. Shop was advertised as opening at 8 a.m. although when not open at 8.30 a.m. were told it opens between 8-8.30. Grass was long on site with a large amount of weeds al over site. Poorly tended grounds. No information given on arriving at site either about site or surrounding areas. Extremely overpriced for facilites provided. On arrival given a pitch for a caravan with awning with a large slope in middle therefore unable to fit on pitch. This would only be suitable for a tent.
We had reserved a pitch, and this proved a necessity if you want one with a view of the river. The pitches vary but ours was very good, right by the river. Water is only available from the toilet block, which was a minor chore. The toilet block was a bit sad, but adequate. The staff were very helpful and bright. Being close to the Metro satation is a big plus for easy access to the city.
