Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years

Stayed 2 nights at full rate in August but still reasonable. Good size pitches mostly marked out by hedges. Pleasant reception staff, English-speaking. Chalons is 4km away, pleasant town though quite quiet. Big Carrefour nearby. Site is let down by the toilet facilities, which urgently need a refurb. They seemed clean enough but you can\'t avoid the flaking plaster on the walls and the shower trays which have become an ingrained grey. The showers are warm, although have the button you have to keep constantly pressed. Site mostly used by one-nighters.

We used this site as an overnight stop and and stayed for two. Although this is a town site it is very quiet toilets are in need of an update but there is plenty of hot water. A few minutes walk away is a large supermarket. We arrived early afternoon and the site quickly filled up. They were turning away units later in the afternoon so we would recommend a quick phone call to check availability. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would use the site again as a stopover

stayed one night and had not used the site for two years. no changes or update to facilities seem to have been made in that time. No mop in the showers so by evening was looking quite grubby underfoot but water plentiful and hot. The site filled up as usual mid afternoon it was fairly well full by evening. So quiet and peaceful and in good location for the town and world war one locations on the Marne. We went to Suippes for the afternoon which was interesting. Did not use snack bar I\'m not sure it was open? pitches level and with water close by.

To get to this campsite use this address for satnav: 3 Rue de Plaisance, S1000, Chalons-en-Champagne. Do not us the co-ordinates in the ACSI book as they are not correct. We used this campsite as an overnight stop and it is ideal. Reception staff spoke good English and were helpful. There is plenty of room on the site, it is level and the pitches all seem to be fully serviced with electric, water and a drain. The facilities are outdated but clean and in good working order.

Pitches not great. Bar ok but pricey. Only 2 toilets open for each of Men and Women. Question for the ladies toilets. Showers not the cleanest but plenty of hot water.

We used this site as an overnight halt en route back to Calais. I am glad we did not stay for longer.
There is a choice of grass or hardstanding pitches and all are of a decent size.
There are two toilet blacks but travelling so late in the season the larger one was closed so we used the one in the main building. I first stayed here about 30 years ago and my goodness how things have changed. The site is much larger than I remember but the sanitary facilities have deteriorated. It looked like an attempt had been made to upgrade the shower areas by cladding the walls with laminated board but the old walls could be seen behind. I dread to think how many insects must live there. The floors of the toilet and washing areas were dreadful. They didn’t need a mop they needed a scraper.
The whole site just felt uncared for. Which is a great pity because with some effort and a little bit of money it could be so much better. Also, a number of seasonal workers appeared to be living in the bungalows. They did not disturb us in anyway but it did change the ambience of the site.
We will avoid in the future but if you can’t (as we couldn’t) then be prepared to use your on-board facilities.

Despite not wanting to stay again after our visit 4 years ago but forced to due to travel weariness I was surprised to find a great improvement. The workers here last time have moved on and the site has aquired more of a holiday atmosphere. That\'s not to say it\'s anywhere near perfect - the old toilet blocks remain unwelcomimg and water and electric points are still in short supply but the pitches are large and easy to enter for an 8m caravan.

We stayed here for two nights whilst travelling down through France and I thought it was very nice. The reception person was friendly, helpful and spoke good English, there were two facility blocks which were older but very clean and tidy, plus it was a short walk into Dole. We ordered bread each morning from reception and there is a washing machine and dryer on site which was useful. The pitches were a mix and hard standing and grass. They were small for UK standards but there was plenty of room for our caravan and vehicle. The campsite is not very big so if you are going in high season you will probably need to book. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

A little tired! Pitch size good. Toilets, showers ok. Too far from town to walk. Spent a peaceful evening here but that was long enough.

Stop over on way to Italy. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Campsite a little ‘tired’ but tranquil and clean. Lots of cycle friendly routes (about 15 mins) into the town centre which is quiet, with lovely squares full of cafes and a beautiful park. Very few tourists - a pity it’s worth a visit and the locals we met were very welcoming. Very useful map available from reception.
