Stayed here 8 years back and again this year and still same old toilets, needs a major update all round looks very shabby..
Just stayed overnight to break journey, handy location.
We used this site as an overnight halt en route back to Calais. I am glad we did not stay for longer.
There is a choice of grass or hardstanding pitches and all are of a decent size.
There are two toilet blacks but travelling so late in the season the larger one was closed so we used the one in the main building. I first stayed here about 30 years ago and my goodness how things have changed. The site is much larger than I remember but the sanitary facilities have deteriorated. It looked like an attempt had been made to upgrade the shower areas by cladding the walls with laminated board but the old walls could be seen behind. I dread to think how many insects must live there. The floors of the toilet and washing areas were dreadful. They didn’t need a mop they needed a scraper.
The whole site just felt uncared for. Which is a great pity because with some effort and a little bit of money it could be so much better. Also, a number of seasonal workers appeared to be living in the bungalows. They did not disturb us in anyway but it did change the ambience of the site.
We will avoid in the future but if you can’t (as we couldn’t) then be prepared to use your on-board facilities.
Campsite was easy to find and good access. Site itself was clean but toilets were grotty and dated. There were a lot of repairs that were very DIY. Campsite is in town so you have to expect noise. I would only ever use as one night stop over.
Very friendly and helpful staff but would only consider this site as an overnight stop as the facilities are very old and shabby. Most people seem to think the same and is like a transit camp.
This could be a great site with a bit of investment - it\'s well laid out in a prime location but woefully lacking in water and electricity points, and toilet blocks seemingly not updated since their construction in the 1950\'s. However this is a very convenient stopover between north and south.
Pitches not great. Bar ok but pricey. Only 2 toilets open for each of Men and Women. Question for the ladies toilets. Showers not the cleanest but plenty of hot water.
Good sized pitches some with hardstanding. Sanitary facilities are old and in need of updating but were functional. Quite close to town and Carrefour and a large shopping centre is closeby.
This municipal site in my opinion does not deserve it's four star rating. This has all the makings of a good site, but let down by lacklustre staff/management. We were once again reminded that we were back in the north of France in a wet month by the biting of the mosquitos. Not for us, we left after one night.
A very spacious site (formerly a Municipal), with nicely hedged level pitches, 2 km south of the city centre, next to a park. There is a bakery and pharmacy nearby, while the large shopping centre with Carrefour hypermarket is a 15-minute walk away. Camp Reception has free city maps, as well as a cycle map of the area, and sells tokens for the washer and drier in the laundry. Free Wifi works on a couple of pitches near Reception. The ‘television room’ has a few books and films to borrow and a microwave to use – but no television! The grimy facilities are old and worn, with no paper or soap, and overdue for renovation. A small unisex block does have hot showers, though it is an exaggeration to call the room ‘heated’. The price is reasonable with ACSI card but we would willingly pay more for better and clean ablutions!
