Well kept site with plenty of shaded pitches. Excellent domestic facilities in a central block. It\'s location just 2 or 3 kms from the ancient town of Troyes is a great bonus. There is a bus stop close to the gate for the no 1 bus which drives into the town centre. Lots of things to do and see in the town. There is a new Aldi supermarket 100 mts from the site gate.
Would certainly use again. Only disappointment was the fact that ACSI rated ceased on 15 June.
After many years this municipal campsite is part of the Camping Card scheme. The big benefit of this site is its location, being a cycle ride to the city centre and a cycle ride to the outlet stores on the edge of town. Facilities are old and tired. On one occasion we found the pool open, often, like the restaurant it is closed. Pitches at the back border an allotment which is nicer then those around the toilet/restaurant/pool block. Beware this place has reputation for jamming in as many caravans, motorhome and tents as possible and when wet it gets very muddy very quickly.
Stayed on this site quite happily many times, but usually in September.
This is the first time in June.
Pros:- Easy drive from/to ferry. Good bus service into town. Plenty nearby shops for first/final stock up. Troyes interesting half timber buildings.
Cons:- The site looked rather run down this time and we got stuck in the deep mud on our usual pitch, only found small warning notice later, staff might have verbally warned us. We were bitten endlessly by mosquitos, and certainly glad to leave. These cons hopefully a one off due to the heavy rains.
We cannot recommend this site in wet weather. It is located between a river and a canal and in wet weather the pitches are water logged. We paid for two nights and then saw the signs warning of the dangers of sinking into soggy mud. There is a limited number of hard standings and we chose one of these. When we came back to our pitch after a walk we found that other vans were packed into our awning area as close as on an aire. When we complained we were told that we could move and we had a choice. When I said that the ground was too wet we were told it\'s ok we can pull you out. The vans were dangerously close together in the event of an emergency.
Sanitariums are cold and dreary. Food is basic to say the least. The only plus is that Troyes is interesting. In better weather might be worth a risk. In wet weather avoid the place.
Great as a stop over site, Very close to city, within walking distance. Well worth a visit to see the medieval buildings and Cathedral.
We stayed here in our caravan for two nights on our way south in June, driving directly from Calais after a morning ferry. The reception staff were helpful and efficient. We were able to choose a pitch that suited us. Our pitch was grassy, flat, large and neatly separated from other pitches. We had a beer on site, again, very pleasant. Washing facilities and toilets were fine, all in good condition and kept clean. We spent a day in Troyes – a pleasant medieval centre with plenty to see and lots of restaurants and cafes. We took a bus from outside the campsite – very easy and convenient. All in all, we found this a good site at which to break our journey.
Site easy to find from A26 motorway, site well signposted. We arrived a couple of days after the site had opened to find it unkempt and a bit of a mess. Clearly no maintenance work had been done over the winter and when the manager was not in the reception office he was out on site with a rake clearing twigs and weeds. The small toilet block was open but was very dated and not particularly clean.
The pitches were of a good size with a few hardstanding.
All this is a pity as Troyes is a very pretty medieval city.
Ok for a night halt.
Nice pleasant site with shaded tree lined pitches. Good facilities and responsive WIFi. Typical municipal site, slightly run down but with all the facilities you\'d want and with English speaking staff. Good children\'s playground. 500 meter walk to Troyes itself, with good selection of restaurants. It\'s also a good overnight stopover on way to Switzerland via Basel or Geneva.
A site used by many as an overnight stop.
Site shop can supply bread to order and some simple items, while the bar/restaurant is reasonably priced. Toilet / showers clean.
Free wi/fi available.
Pre booked pitch was marked \"reserved\", but queues at reception every night (open until 10pm)
Worth stopping more than one night to visit the town and also shopping outlets.
