This is a lovely site on the banks of Le Loir river and only a short walk into the picturesque town. The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. A small grocery shop with a wide variety of items, bread to order, and local cheeses. There is road noise from the RN10, but tolerable where were pitched near the river. A good supply of facilities, with lots of toilets (seats but no paper!), showers and wash basins (including a large disabled shower). Although ageing, all were very clean. Good dog walking area just outside the gates.
Would definitely recommend for a stop over or as a base for a few days visiting the area. Vendome is historically interesting, with an abbey church and chateau/castle. An excellent town guide leaflet is available from reception.

Great campsite for en-route and possibly longer. Very friendly and helpful management. Very easy to find. Easy access for all sized units and spacious pitches marked by lines in the ground. Some pitches are directly on the riverbank. when we were there the river was not fast flowing but I wouldn\'t suggest letting a sprogg loose near it. Toilet facilities are clean and adequate with seats (although mixed). Adequate hot water. French adapter for hook-up required. Will most definitely return.

Interesting old town. Quiet campsite, no pool, pitches unmarked, facilities all ok plenty of hot water an ideal overnight stop.

This is a very quiet site about 5 minutes walk from the centre of the very pleasant town of Vendome. When we were there is May it was almost deserted and we were able to pick a pitch right by the river. With no-one on either side of us, we had a huge space to ourselves. But pitches are divided just by bare grass lines, so I would imagine in the high season with people either side of you it might feel very crowded. Le Loir is very pretty but there were a few midges around in the evening. Vendome is an interesting town and definitely worth a visit. Sanitaires were clean but a bit outdated and no loo paper. There was a bit of traffic noise but it wasn't too intrusive. A good stopover site. Oh, by the way, on the road into the site from the town there is a high sleeping policeman which bottomed our camper.

Having read other reviews here, this site did not quite live up to our expectations. It has a lot going for it - spacious level grassed area, with mature trees providing a ‘parkland’ setting, with a number of riverside pitches (NB the Loir, not Loire with an ‘e’!) The rather pleasant town centre is c.400m easy walk away. Although pitches are fairly even, the lay-out is confusing, with little in the way of demarcation between them & you may find some neighbours parking a little close for comfort. Of most concern to us was the traffic noise & an incessantly barking dog nearby - really quite intrusive, especially at night. Basic sanitary facilities (mixed) are adequate & clean, but the shower water temperature was extremely variable & never ‘hot‘. Madame in reception was friendly & helpful - wi-fi is available, not included in rate as may be inferred from the Acsi book.

Used as stop over (twice) site relaxed and close to town and good shopping services. Nice area and would use again.

Stayed here in early July on the banks of the river Loire. This is a stopover camping. It is in a lovely town and will always have room for latecomers. No set out emplacements, just pitch camp/caravan wherever you like. No shop. Walk 10 minutes to town center.

Very good site to visit Vendome as you can walk in. Staff very helpful and appologised because of the very wet weather had not been able to cut the grass. They pointed out where it was best to park our campervan which was helpful. The facilities were dated, but were very clean and sufficient opened for the number of campers. The free swimming pool was still not opened as still being made ready and being painted. Was not a problem as frankly it would have been too cold to use anyway. Worth a visit to see Vendome.
