We have used this site for 10 years and have seen the latest owners Christine carry out many improvements. You can walk across a park to the supermarket. The adjacent lake has a resident Gander and many ducks and a beaver. There are walks around lakes from the campsite, A quite and pleasant site with good facilities that are continually being improved. Good fishing.

Just 2 km from the A71, a good stopover but even for longer stays. Friendly welcome, lovely pitch on banks of lake. Refurbished sanitaires

We encountered the strangest 'welcome' (more accurately an 'unwelcome') at this site: on arrival, Madame was standing at the barrier. We parked up and asked if any pitches were available and she responded in the affirmative. We subsequently asked if we could walk around the site to view, her response was that we could not. She said we could take the pitch or leave it, she had no time to show us around. We stressed we didn't need her to show us around bit we'd just like to walk into the site to take a look before taking our caravan on, since we intended staying for one night. She reiterated that we may not enter the site unless we were taking a pitch, and promptly walked inside the reception building!

We've never before encountered such a poor attitude from a member of campsite staff! Needless to say, we moved on to another site in the area (where staff were courteous and not blatantly averse to us having a quick look at the pitches before committing to a stay!

First time here and no hesitation in returning. Flat and well serviced by water and immaculate toilet block. Staff friendly and good English spoken. Five minutes easy walk to SuperU and ten minutes easy walk to town via park pathway. All feels relaxed and safe. Site locked down at night with coded pedestrian access for late returns. We stopped for two nights but stayed for eight when heading South. That really says it all. Worth a visit for overnight or longer.

This was the second campsite in a row we stopped at that were excellent. We had left 2059 at Vichy and this campsite itself was as good. Staff wonderful, pitches excellent especially the ones with views over the lake, toilet block was good and really unfair to compare Salbris a town with a city like Vichy. Cannot comment on pool as closed, but it looked OK. The Super U was an easy walk over the bridge. The town was neat and tidy. A first class site for a stopover or a longer stay.

One thing we always remember about this site, is the welcome from the lovely owner. It is great for stopovers, and slightly longer stays, which we promise to do, but never accomplish . As last year we feel sanitary facilities could be worked on, but for an over night , no problems
Will be back as the route north to south, and return is cheaper than the expensive toll routes more widely used

Car + 7.4m caravan.
As per previous reviews, the site makes an excellent stopover, access is fairly easy and the lady on reception was very friendly & spoke English. check in was quick & simple. We arrived early evening for a one night stay so we didn't have time to explore the area or use the restaurant facilities. The shower block is quite modern and more than adequate and the toilets were clean but fairly basic, (no seats but paper).
We will call here again if we are in the area.

This site was our choice for an overnight stop. The town deserved a longer stay , as it looked interesting, but onwards we needed to be. The all round feel of the site was good, with the only real downside that we noticed was the toilets, that were in need of upgrading. A little tip, if you have a high top unit....be careful of your approach, as there is a low bridge on one side of the campsite. Your host staff was really helpful on our arrival. Will use again

We have made this our first stopover through France. It's a great site, very clean and tidy, good little bar with usual pizzas and frites. Showers and toilets are more than adequate. We didn't use the pool so can't comment. Staff are lovely. The area is pleasant and village with amenities only five minutes walk away. Lovely site overlooking lake.

Intended to spend a couple of nights but events extended our stay until we could free our motorhome from the flooded river and lake.
This site will be out of use until at least July.
The owner needs all the support we can give her by using her lovely again.
