Great pool and good sized pitches with EHU and water. Plenty of hot water in showers and washing up areas.
Friendly staff. Good shop on site plus snack bar, restaurant and take away.
Pool a god send in the current 40 degrees temperatures.
Note, the campsite IS NOT 500m from Chambord as stated in the ACSI book. It is a 10km bike ride away!
Would stay again if in the area
Phoned ahead to book & paid just €16.88 per night in April. Pleasant welcome & simple check in process. Very quiet & allocated large pitch with hedged borders, some shade, EHU & tap on pitch. Two amenities blocks within 150m very clean. Pool & slides open. Main pool covered & warm. Slides & splash pool were cool. This is a summer site for families with bikes, games, clubs etc. Chambord Chateau 6.5km on bike & cycle track along The Loire 500m from site.
Stayed at this site as we wanted to visit Chambord. It is not 500 metres to the chateau but almost 7kilometers. We were still able to cycle there though. The pitch that we were allocated was right next to the basket ball court which was being used by teenagers until well after 11pm. We did complain and then someone did check on this after 10.30pm. The facilities were good but would not book again because of the general amount of noise by other visitors
Pitch was allocated at reception and Camping Card holders were restricted to some of the smaller darker pitches. We finally got a satisfactory place at the third attempt. Not a good start.
The campsite turned out to be excellent and good value. We cycled a lot and didn\'t have time to make use of the many facilities on offer. WIFI was a bit hit and miss but we think they were having some technical problems with it and they offered a refund if you were not satisfied. Toilets /Showers were excellent with heaps of hot water. We would return but it\'s worth the effort to get a good pitch in the first place.
We are currently on the site and I feel I need to leave a review as the site is so good. Check in was a bit slow- they need someone extra on reception and only 1 washing machine working but otherwise what a superb site. We don’t have kids with us but loads for the kids to do. Showers were hot with good water pressure and toilets with seats and paper! Better than some caravan club sites. Large shady pitches with water on each pitch. We saw a red squirrel yesterday and lots of different birds. Chateau Chambord about 3 miles away. Would def come back here again if we are in the area.
We have stayed here twice now, four years apart. There have been some changes (upgrading) in that time but the camp remains a firm favourite. Excellent base from which to see the Loire Valley and all the chateaux of the region. Toilet facilities plentiful and clean. Reasonably well stocked shop for food, drink and camping odds and ends. Restaurant/bar, pizza take-away. Pool is fabulous- spent whole day in it at the end of our holiday. Lots of things for the kids to do- playpark, exercise equipment, tennis, table-tennis. There is a large amount of mobile homes, chalets and permanent tents but the site never feels overcrowded even in July.
