We enjoyed or 2 days here. The staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities clean.
Lovely big pitches in a woodland setting.
Nice big general room for snacks, pizza, internet, entertainment etc with a lovely happy ambience. Recommended.
A large spread out campsite with a mixture of open and shaded pitches provided by mature trees.
Helpful staff and English spoken. The site has a covered pool which although a reasonable size is only about 1 m deep. The outdoor pool acsi lists as a facility is actually a municipal attached to the site. Free entry via a wrist band from reception but was very busy with local children.
Short walk into village of Bracieux which has four restaurants and one bar. Never got to try the bar as closed Mondays and only open until 8pm rest of time.
Pleasant footpath to village directly opsite campsite next to church.
Comfortable, well laid-out site. Staff friendly and helpful. Large indoor cafe area next to reception with free wifi, morning bread orders, breakfasts and other snacks, I think, in the season. The heated indoor pool was still open although sadly we did not use it. Modern, heated, unisex sanitary facilities with loo seats and paper. Unfortunately there appeared to be a blocked toilet which was very smelly if the door wasn't left open and this was not attended to during our 2 night stay. Otherwise, Huttopia certainly seem to have the right formula for modern campsites. Situated in a lovely area a few minutes walk to the village.
We nearly didn't stay here as there were a couple of very poor reviews which showed up on my phone app but were so pleased that we ignored them and stayed here for a couple of nights. Interestingly the poor reviews must have been deleted as they don't appear on the website. The facilities were kept beautifully clean and it was lovely having a swimming pool which was open in October. It is a great area for cycling. We walked to Chambord which is worth a visit. There was an excellent supermarket at Mont-pres-Chambord which also had cheap diesel.
Very noisy when we were there in mid June, with builders wagons, dumper trucks and vans constantly driving through the site from 8am until early evening. All the site roads consist of loose grit which gets everywhere. This is a wooded site with opportunities to benefit from shade. Many of the pitches had however low over hanging tree branches and ourselves and others were seen to have problems with this. The toilet block closest to us had a third of the toilets out of order and 3 others had doors that could not be locked due to ill fitting doors.
The swimming pool was lovely and the adjacent social area was clean and attractive. The receptionists were cheery and helpful.
It was a five minute walk into the town where there was a small supermarket and a handful of cafes.
We would be reluctant to use this site again due to overall poor maintenance evident and the gritty site roads
We enjoyed our stay very much while passing through France towards the sea. Campsite is very calm, pitches are spacious and the surrounding is beautiful. Campsite is surrounded by trees which offers a nice bit of shadow on days that can become very hot in this part of France. Staff was helpful and little shop is rather small but you have very good bakery in town close to the camping. If you are a bit fit you can reach plenty of the castles by bicycle which you can rent at the camping. All in all we can really recommend you to stay over for a couple of nights.
We agree with other positive comments here - a pleasant, well-run site, part of the Indigo/Huttopia group which markets itself as ‘back to basics’ camping & consequently there are few ‘amusements’, but there is a separate swimming pool just next door. Pitches are set amongst pine trees; some larger places are not available at the Acsi rate, but that still leaves plenty of choice. Sanitary facilities (four separate uni-sex blocks but only one open Sept ‘14) are modern & clean; but the few water points around the site are hard to find. Staff are friendly & helpful & speak good English. Free (fast) wi-fi at bar/reception. Cycle trails lead off into the surrounding parkland & link with the ‘Loire a Velo’ routes - both Chambord & Cheverny are within an hours ride, with local shops in Bracieux c.10mins walk. We would happily stay here again.
I came here `on the rebound' from Cheverny, which I liked when I stayed there two years ago but which was full when I got there this year. It proved to be a very adequate substitute: plenty of space, good quality sanitary blocks and very pleasant surroundings. The camp restaurant is rather basic, but there are better restaurants in the village within easy walking distance.
Stayed here for 4 nights off peak. Site is nice with brand new shower and toilet blocks which were spotless. Pool was closed due to the time of year. The staff were friendly and you could buy pasteries for breakfast. The site was great for cycling and visiting the Chateaus. Would stay again.
