Travelling party: Couple

A very convenient overnight stop on the outskirts of Chateauroux. The campsite is a bit of a mishmash of cabins and camping pitches. When we were there it seemed as if a number of local workers were staying on the site. To be honest it has seen better days. The pitches were spacious enough and generally flat but the showers were rather under par. The lovely park and lake next door however, with a sandy bathing area, are well worth visiting.

Used as stopover. Reception good. Pitches spacious with shade under trees. Toilet/shower/dish washing facilities poor and not terribly clean. No grey water disposal on site ‘under pain of expulsion’. Wouldn’t visit again.

Very tired facilities, grass 30cm high, toilet facilities dusty. this campsite is in a lovely location and could be excellent with better catering management. We left early.

I was keen to visit this site, having camped here some 40 years ago, and again about 10 years back. I was almost put off by the report dated December 2023. I’m so glad I ignored that report, as it is in no way representative of this site today, May 2024. If you want to visit the area, or are just passing through, it is well worth a visit. There are cabins and pods to rent, or many caravan/motorhome pitches available - some with shade, some without. Also, there are play areas for children.

Would not stay here Ever!! dogs running loose. Was more of a traveler\'s site with obviously the men working in the locale. Couldn\'t get away quick enough.

Good campsite in pleasant location next to a park. toilets and shower block is new and clean. only three toilets in the block but old toilet block is still open.
Free buses in the whole of Metropole Chateauroux although it’s not far to walk thru the park to the Center.
reports of dogs etc was mount a problem when we were there early October.
Reception staff were excellent and bread was available to order.

Excellent campsite in a quiet location. Lovely situation next to the green parks and lake. Pleasant walk into Chateauroux. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent bar and restaurant a few minutes away overlooking the lake.

Good sized pitches, great location, staff good, toilet facilities acceptable. But whoever came up with the idea of using the Aires outside for the chemical toilet emptying! This is not acceptable- Acsi please note!
