Still a excellent campsite been her so many times now, all facilities very good internet connections excellent. Walk into Vermenton along river lovely. New manager there this time as we arrived the first day of opening. Excellent English could not be more helpful, was always so polite highly recommend this site.
Nice site spacious pitches.
The motorhome service point is very difficult to use single handed, lift drain cover, arrange plastic pipe under van on water discharge point with other end of pipe in drain, a very poor system, did not use it waited until we found a discharge point on our journey.
This is really an excellent site! A gem to be honest! One of the most peaceful settings we had in our 4 week tour in our VW Camper. It said in the ACSI site book it was well signposted but we found it not so simple and nearly gave up searching but we were so glad we persevered. It’s actually a municipal site but the pitches are generous with a few shrubs in places to divide the pitches. There are large mature trees giving good shade from the heat we experienced. The camp manager and his assistant are very pleasant and are obviously proud of their campsite. There are flowers in planters all over the site tended by them. The toilet block is spotless and although it looks a little dated is really well kept. Close to the site is a river and canal basin with boats moored. A walk into the town takes a ten minute stroll and is very pleasant. There is an ATAC supermarket at the other end of the town which was really well stocked and stocked Campingaz cylinders. There was also a petrol / Diesel station at the Atac.
All in all a great site we would return to without hesitation!
We stopped off at this site on the way south for one night and chose it as a stop for a few days on our return. Its a small friendly site. Good sized, flat pitches, half of them shady, which believe me,with temperatures in high 30's we needed when we were there. The small town is within walking distance and there is a riverside walk just outside the campsite. The sanitary facilities were good and cleaned twice a day. Water in showers and washing up area was hot. There was a slight road noise from the distance but nothing that disturbed the peace and quiet of the site. The office sold Chablis wine which was a bonus and we enjoyed some while we were there. definately go there again.
As others have said this is a quiet small site with good sized pitches, ours was enormous, shaded with a few trees but not oppressively so. The pitches were level and toilet facilities clean. The lack of bar etc meant is was very quiet yet only a few minutes walk into town. Bread was available from reception to order. The warden doesn't speak English but tries to be helpful but doesn't want you to pay in cash as he has had problems with money being stolen. There are a few chalets on site. There are no views from the site owing to the high hedges surrounding it. We chose the area as we wanted to see the vines growing but there are none in the immediate vicinity and we had to go about twelve miles to Chablis to see them. Don't be put off by the fact that it is just behind the station. There are hardly any trains going through.
Very pleasantly situated by the river - where there is a designated bathing area - and within easy walking distance to the town. Mostly shaded pitches of a good size. Sanitary facilities clean but not the best. Very jovial warden.
Very nice site, quiet day and night. Free wi- fi .
Guardian does not speak English, but goes out of his way to please.
Stayed 7 nights, it's next to the river and a short walk into village.
Will return to this site.
We stayed 4 days here in early April and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is a lovely small campsite a few minutes walk from Vermenton. We stayed on one of several hardstandings as the ground was very wet at this time of year. There were a few other campers (French, Dutch and English). The toilet and showers were exceptionally clean and serviced twice a day. The site manager (Serge) was always available and very helpful - a truly nice person.
Great little site, riverside with 4 hard standing pitches for Motorhome. easy walk to town of Vermenton. public tennis and football pitches at side of site. friendly staff, New toilets, cleaning daily. We will return. arrived by accident for a night, stayed 4
I hate sharing secrets, but if you're in this neighbourhood, visit here. beautiful site, right on the river.very clean, small site. New toilet blocks.very peaceful as we finally found one in France. tennis court and football pitches (but no-one uses them in the Sun) very friendly site owner, even with my poor French language. We will be back!
