This has to be the worst site we have ever had the misfortune to stay on. Only plus is 10amps of electricity, which after 2 months of 4-6amps in Italy was welcome. However, that had reversed polarity. Toilets and showers were filthy. Didn’t try the restaurant as it was closed at lunchtime. Lots of flies, wasps and ants in August. Better facilities in some aires!
Well, where to start..... wish I'd read the reviews before entering this site. It appears nothing much has changed since 2011, the 'sanitaires' are still in the same condition. The ladies was locked and was told to use the gents, only went in once as the site was quiet, used the motorhome toilet after this, as it was a better experience. I know the French aren't bothered about separating male and female, but us English are more prudent. My husband went and showered in the gents, but he came back and said they were dirty, which I thought that when I entered the gents.
The guy was very attentive when we first arrived, rushing to greet us from the opposite end of the site and take our money for the 2-night stay (appalling for such disgusting facilities or lack of). He said we could use any pitch as it wasn't busy and it was very muddy too.
The restaurant wasn't open either.
We will not be returning to this site and hope that someone reads these reviews before booking/staying, unlike myself.
Basic riverside site, with easy walk to town. Very poor sanitary facilities most in need of cleaning & repair & no doubt inadequate when site is busy. As previous reviewer has noted, be aware that Acsi discount card is only accepted about 6 weeks in the year - poor value!. Extra charge for wi-fi.
Very disappointing. The grass camping field was soft, so we parked on the path. No other campers. In the cold and grimy 'sanitaires', the Ladies was locked. Only when we asked were we told to both use the Gents. This had a row of urinals, 2 dirty toilets (one of them squat-type) and lukewarm showers. The building smelt of tobacco and mildew. There was nowhere for washing up and the outside taps and chemical WC point were turned off. ACSI Card discount did not apply after 30 September so we paid full price for these disgusting facilities. WiFi was available, though at an extra charge. A good position by the river and an easy walk into town, but no wonder that no-one else was staying. The warden was always absent (whatever the Reception hours might say) and clearly couldn't care less - 'I am not the boss' was his only response to complaints.
This has the potential to be a very good site - nice level field with access to the river. BUT the sanitary facilities left a lot to be desired. I took one look at the toilet and fled screaming to my own loo in the caravan. They still have the old French style squatting toilets (and some civilised ones, to be fair) but there was rather too much old poo hanging about for my taste. I didn't fancy the showers as they didn't look clean. My partner used the showers and he said they were only cleaned (after a fashion) once in 5 days. The chemical disposal leaked and was surrounded by a pool of effluent. Not nice!
The town was easily reached and had a couple of decent supermarkets but had nothing else to recommend it, rather shabby and dull.
All a great shame because there's a great marina and a lovely river to be enjoyed.
We wouldn't use this site again. The sanitary block needs demolishing and re-building.
