Good size pitches with enough shade and privacy. Electricity bollards were shared between pitches and a bit rickety and shared with taps. never reassuring but no problems. Toilets were clean and fairly modern. The main gripe was the push button showers - some hardly stayed on at all. Baby bathroom was appreciated but needed a plug to make the baths of real benefit. The pool was lovely - the only minus for us was no separate toddler pool though the shallow end was very suitable. We had one drink in the bar and bought bread but can\'t comment further on food. The WIFI was appreciated though. No obvious chemical toilet disposal at the main block near our pitch. We walked down to the lake but didn\'t venture in. There was a good playground there as well as the beach and waterslide. The beach was very coarse - maybe imported builder\'s sand?
When we arrived at this campsite at around 2.30pm reception was closed. A message on the door advised to choose a pitch from the list posted on the door and return at 4pm when reception opened. This list was very limited considering the number of pitches empty on the large site. We were not keen on any of the pitches available from the list. As luck happened we came across one of the couple running the site. It seemed as we only wanted to stay three nights it was okay to pick any site we wanted. (A large number of bookings were expected to arrive later in the week.)
Most pitches are quite large with additional space in front of the pitches. Most have some shade but a few are more open which we prefer for early morning and late evening sun. We found the grass on most of the site a little long and due for a cut. It seems that here grass is cut and not collected up as lots of old dry cut grass was evident around the site and on pitches.
There are two large sanitary blocks .
Pleasantly located site next to lake and local community sports facility. Supermarket and small quiet village within walking distance. Onsite facilities all open in June and not busy although site probably 40/50% full. Lake fishing pretty good but licence a bit costly. Would recommend and will visit again.
We used this site early in the season as a stop-over while travelling south in our motorhome. It was very quiet, and the facilities were not yet all open. Only one of the two main facility blocks was open, and this was shared by both sexes with no separate areas. Furthermore, only cold showers were available there. There was one hot shower in a separate small area near reception, but this was in serious need of renovation - some boken tiles and crumbling plasterwork.
This is a good campsite. In all our years of camping in Euope, we have never had such a spacious pitch, it was great. Our children loved the lake, it's good for swimming but there are 2 great (supervised) waterslides which proved a real hit. There is a lovely walkway all around the lake. The swimming pool is quite small but is very suitable for younger children who may not be able to swim in the lake. There's a restaurant, which seemed a little formal, and didnt fit in with the relaxed camping atmosphere. There's a trampolene and a very small children's playground, there is another play area beside the lake though. Arnay le Duc is a very nice place, we visited Beaune, about 30 kilometers away, which is probably one of the nicest towns in France and the Hotel Dieu, probably one of the most wonderful buildings. All in all, I liked this campsite, it's very near the autoroute so its a really useful campsite to know about.
We stayed at this camp site for a 3 week holiday. On arrival the reception was good they took us to size. But as we drove to the pitch the camp site seemed to be split in two too halfs. The side by the reception the people where crammed on like sardines in small pitches, then you dive to the far side and it’s like a different site: massive pitches and a good 60rds to the on looking pitch. If you go ask to stay in the 140s
The village Arnay le Duc is very close, 3 supermarkets and Thursdays nights in village was a real good night, live music, good food.
We drove to Dijon for the markets and the shops takes 45 mines on a very good road in.
But the main problem was the hygiene in the toilets and showers, we have been too many campsites in France but it’s hard to put into words how poor they were here.
The shower s and wash basins were cold every day ,the showers were full of hair as were the sinks .The one sink had the same hair in it for 6 days people were going to reception put nothing seemed to get done .
The only time something did get done was when an angry mob of campers frog marched the manager to the toilets because there had been human fesses on the wall for 3 days .There was a cleaning team sent and it was clean for a few days then it fell back to the way it was.
We were lucky we could shower and wash in the caravan we felt sorry for those that could not.
We were talking to some Dutch who have been coming to this site for many years and the said it was due to a change in the management for the decline in hygiene
We stayed there for 3 weeks, the camping pitch was nice, but the camp site is in 3 areas. We were in the new bit which is nice. But the first area is very busy and there was no space at all for the campers. I think I would have left if they had put me there. The toilets and shower blocks were BAD: the water was always cold and they were so dirty and NEVER cleaned untill we conplaned and when we did they did not believe us, so we had to take the manager to the block to show him and that evening he and others was up there cleaning. That was the last time we saw any cleaning in there and we looked on to them so we should know. If you had any problems they were not very helpfull. The area is nice but i was not happy there and because you have to pay when you arrive you have to stay.
Very attractive site set in very rural and beautiful surroundings. Close to attractive village and in the wine and chateau regions, this site offers very large pitches, fabulous swimming pool and modern bar and restaurant. Adjacent to public lake for walking swimming and more activities. Recommended.
