Very peaceful, quiet site just outside the delightful town of Rochforte en Terre. Great owners who speak English. Reasonably priced snack bar / takeaway. Many places to eat in Rochforte which is walkable. Toilets dated but very clean. Covered pool. Easy access. Good sized pitches, some slightly sloping. Originally booked in for one night, but stayed eight! Couldn\'t get satellite TV from our pitch due to trees, but no matter. Free WiFi. Will return. Recommended for tranquility!
Very nice site very clean and tidy \'staff friendly and helpful.
Plenty of hot water for showers and washing up. Swimming pool very good nice and warm water. Big pitches with hedges.
Village very beautiful and interesting and only a 15 minute walk. Nice walk just outside camp site around lake
Will definitely come again
We received a friendly welcome at reception. The campsite was very quiet and there was a choice of good sized pitches. Toilet facilities dated but clean. Shower cubicles are spacious with plenty of hot water. Excellent location to visit town of Rochefort-en-Terre which is about a ten minute walk and well worth a visit. Sorry we didn\'t stay a second night to explore the beautiful nearby Étang du Moulin Neuf. We didn’t try the pool.
This is a lovely fairly quiet site, the staff are very friendly and they have a very cute pet miniature pig! The toilets are a little bit tired and need updating, beware if the 3 standard toilets are in use there is an old squat toilet! The showers are unisex, but have ample hot water/ The pool is very nice and a decent temperature. My only criticism would be that the roadway into the site is quite rough and the roads around the site need smooting out, but I suppose it keeps the speed down! Would I go back, the easy answer is yes, we enjoyed our time there.
The lady on reception speaks good english and is very helpful First impressions of the site are that it’s a little scruffy round the edges - but there are wild flowers, compost bins and several barbecues which give the place charm. Yes, the local village is a tourist honey-pot - but the tourist info office has lots of suggestions for circular walks in the area, so it’s easy to get out and about with the dog. It’s less than 2km to another local village which has a grocer, butcher and baker.
This is a great little site with lovely staff and a great swimming pool, very good value on ACSI and with a beautiful town and lake walks within an easy walk from the site. The toilet block is tired, and the pitches are rather strangely arranged, but when we visited the site was quite quiet, so there was no problem in sorting out a pleasant pitch, although the motor mover was essential here, depending on your choice of pitch. It was very peaceful on site, as it has it's own access road, which is a dead end up a slight hill. Recommended, and we would happily return. The bar is staffed by the owners, and they offer some really nice little meals at good prices. Try the Coffee Gourmand!
Approaching Rochfort edn Terre we found the road through the village closed on Sunday afternoons which made us go quite a way round but on arrival we found a quiet site with work in progress.
A friendly welcome by the staff and told to choose a pitch which varied in size.
The toilets are English and French types which are clean, hot showers, good laundry and washing up facilities.
Swimming pool is excellent, child friendly , boules pitch etc.
The area is of outstanding natural beauty, a walk around the lake (approx 2 miles) is very pleasant.
Vannes Port and Qesembert Monday market worth a visit.
The staff at this site - the lady at reception - was very friendly and welcoming. However, the site was a little "tired" and has great potential that is not been realised. Some of the pitches are very spacious, but could have been better maintained (cleaner, grass cut etc) when we arrived there in late August. The toilets need an upgrade, and the whole place could do with a bit of a makeover. We did buy an excellent bottle of wine in the campsite bar, but the site needs a bit more TLC.
We found the owners of this site very pleasant and helpful. During the high season travelling entertainers arrived on Friday evenings for about 30-45mins along with a mobile shop pulled by a large Shirehorse, also on various days a mobile creperie and a purveyer of local and regional sausages and cheese. Not all the pitches have electricity but these are few in number. Since the photo of the pool was taken the toddlers pool has been segregated from the main pool. There is a 60 acre lake a short walk through the woods where the French V V F have a base with bar, Resturant and Pedello hire the area is ideal for walking, cycling with more adventures off road routes for the more energetic types, for a more sedate outing a short car ride with bikes will take you to Questembert behind the Hippodrome where a disused railway line has been tarred over giving a 55Kilometre traffic free exercise for the more adventuress. Not far from Vannes, Redon, and many more places of interest including a Zoo and Insect musuem and golfing, there are also some great beaches within easy reach.
We stayed here 10 years ago when the campsite was called Camping le Moulin Neuf. When we arrived, we were a little confused as the campsite has a new name. It also has new owners, who are very friendly and helpful. Our lead was too short to reach the nearest electricity point and the owner went to great trouble to find a spare lead and adapter for us. He was assisted by Diablo, the large friendly campsite dog.
This campsite is a 10 minute walk from (in my opinion), the nicest village in Brittany, Rochefort en Terre. The old buildings are beuatiful, there is an abundance of flowers and there is a great selection of craft shops, artists studios, antique shops, etc. there are also many bars, cafés and restaurants. There is also a chateau with open gardens.
The campsite itself is small, with a lovely atmosphere. There is a very nice pool covered on rainy days. It has a good playground and tennis court on an upper terrace.
It is a little expensive in my opinion, but an unbeatable location.
