As regular visitors to this site (we either visit in June or September) we always find it to be well maintained and the facilities (showers, pool etc.) spotlessly clean. Most pitches are of a good size surrounded by established shrubs/hedges giving a reasonable amount of privacy. The managers are always pleasant (pity the owner who is there occasionally doesn\'t follow suit). Spectacular scenery and lovely harbours and beaches plus the main town of Port Maria is always buzzing.
We stayed on the site at the end of June, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The site is close to numerous beaches and the area is beautiful. The reception was closed for lunch when we arrived but one of the staff was there and told us to pick a pitch and come back later when the office was open and book in, there was no waiting around, so relaxed and friendly. Would highly recommend this site.
Decided on this site for a couple of nights but stayed for 9 that really sums it up. Arrived just after lunch, accueil closed but with reference to the note on the door of the office that said we should proceed in, select a pitch and return when open to let them know where we were. Office hours were 8 \'til 10 and then 4 \'til 5. Pitches are of a good size with water points handy to share on adjacent pitches. Electricity near by. WiFi charged. Toilets and showers were clean and well looked after, push button for water, unisex facilities. Adequate washing for both dishes and clothing with a charge for the washing machine. I used to take my washing to the local Casino supermarket and for a wash taking just over 20 minutes I could combine a shop and wash and a wash a bargain into the process. A walk to the supermarket is about 7-8 minutes, to Quiberon about 15 and the beaches no more than 5 minutes. So a great location. The nearness to the aerodrome is not an issue as there are no \"Jumbo jets\" landing at unearthly hours!! It is used mainly for small domestic aircraft and pleasure flights and some helicopters. Swimming pool is of a good size and covered in inclement weather. For dog owners there is a vet not far from the station next to Lidl on the Ave Charles de Gaulle about a 20 minute steady walk park in Lidl next door to the vet if you take the car. Beach walks are really lovely, beautiful sand. Port Haliguen is a small harbour very near to the site with a few restaurants and the odd shop. The town of Quiberon has everything to offer including a ferry to the nearby islands. An ideal site for everyone as I said we started with 2 nights and stayed for 9!!
Location terrific, 500mtrs from nearest beach but there must be dozens of beaches with a 30 minute walk. The shower blocks are great design - more IKEA than a building but perfect. The reception staff were brilliant. I phoned ahead and was told if arriving at 2pm to pitch up and come to the reception when open at 4pm. The walk out to Congruel is to die for and Quiberon is about 25 mins walk, with lots of bars, restaurants and a wonderful beach. We will return.
Another visit this year was as enjoyable as ever. Still very relaxed as the previous reviewer said you just find a pitch and book in when the office is open later. This site, in our opinion, is far better than others in the area but for some reason always quiet. Don't be put off by the location next to the aerodrome the entertainment watching the sky diving far outweighs the noise from the planes. 500mtrs from beautiful beaches, with Port Halliguen and the main town Port Maria easily walkable Quiberon has some of the best coastal scenery in France and with its many excellent eateries etc. for us, a must to visit and enjoy every year.
Good quiet site. The reception was closed when we arrived but a note in French instructed us to find a pitch and return at 5pm to sign in, good bar in airdrome bar next to site good at weekends to watch the French rich fly in, entrance good beach 500m from site.
Lovely campsite with new and very clean toilet block. Bread can be ordered daily. 20 minute walk and 5 minute cycle to beach. Other campsites in the area were right on the coast and looked very full. The cycle ride to both ports was flat and an easy pedal.
AN EXCELLENT SITE COULD EASILY HAVE STOPPED LONGER IF WE HAD TIME HOPE TO BE THERE AGAIN SOON. LOTS TO VISIT IN THE AREA GOOD FOR CYCLING AND WALKING. EXCELLENT FACILITIES
This site now has excellent new shower & toilet facilities for 2016. The grounds are well maintained with large flat pitches for caravans and motor homes. This is an excellent site for those who don’t want club & bar facilities but want to be near the beaches (500mtrs) and the many restaurants & shops of Port Maria (2km). There is no shop on site although bread can be ordered daily (the nearest supermarket is only 1km away) We have visited this site for several years and have always received a warm, friendly welcome but could never understand why the site is always so quiet as it is in such a lovely part of Southern Brittany with great beaches, cycling routes and lively towns such as Carnac, Array, Vannes etc. just a short drive away. With the new toilet / shower facilities now in place it is well worth a visit.
Another delightful stay at Joncs du Roche. Still no refurbishment of the shower / toilet block but otherwise the site itself remains well maintained, the swimming pool excellent and spotlessly clean and the staff pleasant and friendly. Large, flat touring pitches and good electric supply. As usual, the site was fairly quiet although busier than last year. Our only complaint is the internet, and, as has happened before, you do not get the time you have actually paid for.A minor complaint but annoying when you pay for a service that you don’t receive.
Nearest supermarket 1 kilometer, beaches are 500 mtrs, Port Maria with it’s delightful shops, restaurants, harbour and beaches 2 kilometers and Port Haliguen harbour and beaches 1 kilometer. The area is great for walking or cycling. Recommend Calibri Restaurant on Port Maria front for excellent food & service.
