Only real downside to this site is that there are weddings held at weekends and there can be considerable noise and disturbance as a result. While those staying on the site are supposedly told in advance, we weren\'t and had to move on at short notice as we were not prepared to listen to loud music till 04.00. Otherwise, it is a lovely place and with easy access to Quimper is a great place to stay.
Thought this was going to be first class (In part because of the price). It wasn\'t. Restaurant was poor; not a full menu on the night we went, and what was described as tapas would not pass muster in Spain. There\'s supposed to be an épicerie. There wasn\'t. The laundry room had a couple of inches of water on the floor, as did the adjoining toilet block. And the pitch was nothing to write home about. We\'ve been motorhoming for years and find ACSI generally a good guide. I suggest they revisit.
What a brilliant campsite , everything about the camping is great . Can’t fault a thing and with ACSI card. Didn’t try the food .
A tour of town including there and back was 5 miles on our bike . Easy to get to , mostly on cycle paths .
We visited in June and the campsite swimming pool wasn\'t open. The washrooms are clean and pitch sizes good. However facilities such as washing machines, restaurant and the aquapark are 500m away near reception. The food at the restaurant is excellent and good value.
We were very disappointed with changes to this site. We visited several times many years ago when everything was open early in the season - April/May. We arrived at the end of May to find that despite the ACSI information stating that all facilities were open from 15 April the only thing open was the restaurant - you couldn\'t even order bread. Compared to previous visits the site looked very tired and uncared for - there was a wedding during the weekend we arrived and this seems to be their main focus these days - all together such a shame as the site used to be lovely.
Beautiful gardens and nice pitches.
However not 5 stars. Pool was empty, WiFi is charged extra, info could be better, wrong pitch assigned (was occupied), bread order after 6 pm for next day in the restaurant which is far away from the pitches, poor signage, poor lighting on access path to toilets
Stayed for 2 nights to visit Quimper. Ideal site if you don\'t mind a 20 minute walk to town along a footpath through a wooded area. If a gate had been able to be opened from the site then then the walk into town could have been made a lot quicker as it took at least a third off the distance to walk. When we arrived on site it was not made very clear that the north toilet was closed, only the south one was open. We found this out after we had pitched so couldn\'t be bothered to move!! On the plus side we had a lovely grass pitch with no neighbours. Toilets we clean and well cared for. Lovely walks adjacent the chateau and alongside the river. Quimper is a lovely town with many shops and well worth a visit.
Nice campsite in beautiful setting of French chateau. Very convenient for Quimper centre. Great loo block and showers. Loved it.
Have stayed on this site many times over the years and it was one of our favourites, but now they have removed all of the services i.e. shop, bar, etc. down to the main reception area the site seems lifeless. It is as if the camping has now become second to the other facilities that are more open to the public. Even the Gents toilets were shut due to a business function so the ladies were used for all. Will not make an effort to return in the near future.
Spent 5 nights on this huge site and would return if we were in the area. The reception and swimming pool complex was a considerable distance from the camping area, which dissuaded us from using the swimming facilities. Supermarkets and shops were walking distances and the site was very easy to find and access even with a large caravan. The toilet facilities were kept in spotless condition. The vegetation surrounding the pitches was in need of some pruning.
