We loved this site and went there on the strength of all the other good reviews on this website. It didn't disappoint. Hubert and his team do a very professional job and reception was helpful and friendly. The site itself is in a fabulous location right behind the beach with direct access via dedicated paths. At low tide the walks out to the islands to watch the work on oyster racks and to see the locals digging up a variety of shellfish was very wonderful. The toilet block for our area Zone B was basic but clean and had really good showers with copious amounts of hot water. We would definitely go there again.
Great site. Pitches on terraces those nearer the sea can be a bit sandy. Water pressure in the showers was the best we have ever come accross, almost a massage! Dish washing water red hot. Pots have never been so clean! Wi fi is only free for first 3 hrs now, we got a voucher at reception.
We were very much looking forward to visiting this site but very disappointed by it.
We appreciate that we were there in low season but felt let down that the advertised facilities such as a pizzeria and bar were not open. We had chosen this campsite due to these facilities being mentioned, as had others who arrived about the same time, only to be told that the nearest restaurant/bar was a car drive away. An indication that these facilities were seasonal would have helped and prevented a bad impression.
Although the pitches are advertised as 'marked' we found it hard to see where some pitches started and ended, possibly not helped by some of the other campers having spread out over large areas with additional vehicles etc leaving a poor choice of suitable pitches for us especially as I have some special needs. The other thing we found frustrating was the layout of the EHU supply boxes. They are few and far between, though each bollard has a lot of connections, and needed a very long lead to get the electricity to our chosen pitch.
The situation next to the beach is spectacular and the shower/wc facilities adequate but we felt very let down by the details provided in the ACSI description.
This is an excellent campsite. Wonderful situation a short distance from a lovely beach. Great possibilities for walking and cycling. The facilities were spotless and very well maintained. There is a mini supermarket outside the gate which supplies bread, milk and most of the basics. Hubert and his staff were very welcoming, friendly and good humoured. While we were there there was a cookery demonstration on the Wednesday evening and an excellent solo singer on the Friday night when Hubert and friends even joined In the fun demonstrating a Breton Dance and singing some songs. I would definitely recommend this site.
The earlier reviews from GB sum everything up well Probably the most pofessional reception ever, with staff seeming to speak all languages. The location is stunning, miles of safe beach walks, even when tide is out. The local population seem to do a lot of sea fishing and shellfish gathering in a non-commercial way, so that would be a good experience for children. We would go again in high season taking our grandchilren.
Excellent camp site that put on music shows and cooking demos during the season the site is right on the beach with a lot of the pitches haveing fantastic sea views and when the tide is out one can walk out to the many little islands the beach is a nice sandy one it is also a cyclists paradise with fantastic country roads the owner Hubert is a fantastic friendly man and very welcoming he never forgets a face and always has a big smile for the client
A lovely campsite that I would recommend. The staff are friendly, helpful and very laid back. When you arrive which find a pitch and wander up after 4pm to let them know. There was a great choice of pitches, sea views, sheltered, private etc. The pitches are just behind the sand dunes which leads on to an enormous beautiful beach that is wonderful for walking and when the tide is out you can walk to the islands off shore. The toilets were clean and modern. You get a token for using the showers as part of the ACSI price and it is plenty long enough to have a good shower. The campsite give you local maps of the area and we did two of the coastal walks which were well marked. Bread could be bought at the shop in the morning and we heard that the food in the restaurant just out side was very good. We were there in low season, even so a few activities were on offer (about 2 a week)-my husband went to the cookery demonstration, which he enjoyed.
This evaluation has been obtained by our inspector from a questionnaire at the camp site.
I have been to this site twice and will return again. The views are breathtaking, the site is extremely well maintained and the staff are particularly helpful.
Large terraced site, generous sized pitches on grass covered sand. Free wi-fi all over the site. Shower blocks 7/10 it would get more but you have to pay for a shower, 80 cents. The site is 10 yards from the beach. English spoken. No café on site, but one just outside along with a small super market. Nightly entertainments laid on, mostly French choirs. In the day cooking and art classes. Only issue for us was the wind but then again it's the Atlantic Ocean so you pays your money and takes your chance.
