Relatively small hill top site with good views - access a bit tight if making final turn coming down through the town. Older toilets but clean with ample hot water. Helpful and informative reception - a folder of local walks available to select from.
Town a bit jaded but worth a walk (steep climb back), especially the church - lighting not good
Small site with fairly basic facilities, pitches were poorly maintained with long grass. Most pitches were also sloping. Although there was hot water in the toilet/ washing block it took a long time running the water to get it. Fairly close to town but includes a steep accent/descent.
Good value site with large, mostly flat, pitches and most separated by hedges. However, a number of pitches had not been mown recently and could have done with some TLC. Owners were efficient without being particularly friendly. The local town of St Nectaire is walkable but does involve some steepish inclines. The church in St Nectaire Haut is well worth a visit and the views down over the town are impressive. There are a number of bars and restaurants, a patisserie and a small supermarket. The surrounding area is spectacular and the sightseeing opportunities are numerous – Le Puy De Dome, Mont Dore, Lac Chambon, Clermont Ferrand and so on.
This is a lovely campsite within walking distance of St Nazaire where you will find bakery and small grocer shop. Early in season so site nice and quiet. Pool not open nor the pizzeria on site. Great walks in the area and if you only have time for one then would recommend Le Puy d\'Eraigne - great views to Castle Murol with Monts Dore in background (still with snow end April). Campsite has walks in English and may have this one but we found it in the Tourist Office free booklet \' Origine Sancy\' - so need a bit of French to follow as no map!
A second visit here doesn\'t disappoint - as well as maps they have got lots of free walk information sheets in the office.
A lovely little site with tremendous views and very helpful owners. As good as they get. St Nectaire is a good place to eat if you like cheese.
Well run site in attractive wooded setting. Owners speak English and are very friendly. Sanitary block is very clean with plenty of hot water, but could do with being bigger especially at busy times. Majority of visitors appear to be Dutch.
Very child friendly but if you can't stand the noise of children playing, then don't visit. No restaurant but they have a take away pizza/snack bar. Dogs accepted. Would definately recommend it to family groups.
Very cheap with the ACSI discount. Beautiful surroundings, Reception flawless, and very, very helpful, excellent english. Nice tidy site, grass pitch, slightly rutted, but nice and private, peaceful, rural scenery; swimming pool - we missed the opening time - ?bar and shop on site, very helpful advice about the best pitches to use, toilet block under some renovation, clean and modern - think the faciities would be a nightmare if the site was busy. We gave this site 8,5 out of 10. Very good - and would definitely go back
Our first impressions were very poor. The main sanitary block was still being prepared for the season so everyone had to use the small secondary block (one toilet, two showers ... for about ten families ... but the water was hot). Then we found the toilets at the back of the main block were working, though the block was said to be closed. So not so bad. When the site is ready it could be good. Obviously a favourite with the Dutch: even a Nederlands flag flying at the entrance!
