Travelling party: Family with children, 12 - 18 years

Ideal site for a stopover if you are heading south. Very quiet and peaceful. Specific area for overnighters but perfectly suitable. There is a small cafe /bar area but we did not use it. The river is very nice. Very reasonably priced would use it again.

Lovely location beside the river, very peaceful and convenient as a night stop.

A good site for an overnight. Good sized pitches. Wi-Fi widely available. Toilet block old but kept clean. Boules pitch with loan boules available. Short walk into village small convenience store and bars.

Travelling party: Couple

A small and lovely site by the peaceful (whilst we were there) river Allier. Canoeing and swimming in the river and we saw an otter, kingfisher and heron (which is probably why dogs aren’t allowed in it). Best for 2 or 3 nights to relax into the ambience of the site.

Camp not at it's best end of September - it had been raining so a little muddy, leaves everywhere and everything looked very tired. As it was a few days before the end of season I suppose it was inevitable. Very popular with overnighters, meals seemed reasonably priced and popular. Some long narrow pitches which enabled caravans to park without unhitching. Plenty of other pitches too.

Travelling party: Couple

Very quiet site (other than the nightly calling of a multitude of frogs) right by the river Allier with a friendly feel. Good level pitches of varying sizes - hedge dividers on most. Facilities a bit rustic but clean with ample hot water. Friendly and helpful reception.
Some pleasant local villages - no dedicated walking / cycling opportunities obvious

Travelling party: Seniors

Lovely quiet and peaceful site which is used mainly as an overnight stop. Reception very pleasant and helpful (in english).
The site is next to the river and we had a riverside pitch, lovely outlook and just OK size. All pitches looked to be fairly flat. Swimming in the river.
There is a rather limited menu but the food is good and reasonably priced.
Toilets are dated but functional with public sinks. A second block was opened when the site filled up a bit.
Recommended, there are some interesting villages nearby.
