This is a 5 star campsite in everyway. Wonderfully helpful staff, beautiful and clean toilet block, excellent pitches and surroundings and a great heated pool. Good half hour walk to the city, but most of it is through the lovely park by the river. One reviewer said there was nothing in the city, but we found it really interesting and the spas fascinating. We went on the land train which had a English guide to what you were seeing. The city was wonderfully clean Both the campsite and the city we will return to, but just hope for better weather as it was overcast and drizzle all the time unfortunately. The drive to Vichy from Tournon-sur-Rhone was one of the loveliest we have been on, which says a lot for the many lovely journeys we have had on our many visits to France.
We stayed for two nights. Spacious pitches, good facilities. Free wifi. The covered pool is lovely and we were the only ones in it when we were there. The site is a fair way out of town but we went for a lovely river walk along the Allier. We did not find it easy to park in Vichy and nothing much to see. We did find a lovely restaurant near the bridge though. The site is very good value for money.
Overnight stay planned but extended to 2 nights and would have stayed longer time permitting. Good site for dog owners as walks in abundance just outside camp entrance. We liked the \'feel\' here. Good sized pitches spread around, not all in rows. Excellent walks / cycle paths into the town and there are many restaurants / cafes along the riverside with a pretty park adjacent. The pool was ok. Very warm covered pool, but the surrounding path was hard on the feet ! As standard it closed about 7.30 pm which we think is too early but all the sites we visited seemed to operate this policy ! Would definitely go back here. The bread ( order night before) was lovely.
Stayed two nights in May. Weather was hot and the pool a delight- heated. Toilets were well maintained. Would have liked more pressure in shower and piping hot water. Staff on site friendly and very helpful. Campsite tucked away from main road. Walk into town was around 20mins. Lovely river cafe on the way.Would happily stay again if passing through. Vichy was interesting to visit.
We love this campsite, it is the only site we have visited every year on our annual French tour. We have witnessed improvements to the facilities each year, the covered swimming pool is excellent. There is always plenty of hot water for showers and dishwashing. The wifi is free and you can order bread etc at reception each day. There is a good choice of pitches, most with some shade. One of the reasons we like this site so much is that there is a feel that you are camping in the wild, it has not been manicured beyond recognition. The site is run by a lovely family, they even remember which pitch we like to have. Vichy itself is interesting and beautiful, with plenty of walking and if sport is your thing there is so much to see and do, from canoeing on the river to watching the horse racing. There always seems to be some sporting activity taking place when we visit. We will be back in 2017 for our 7th visit, can\'t wait!
Site convenient for Vichy. Pitches can be muddy in wet weather. Staff friendly and helpful. Good walk along river to town
A pleasant enough site with some pitches better than others so if possible have a good look round before settling. Staff were helpful with a little English being spoken. The site has free wi/fi but you will need help from staff to set it up. Good facilities which were cleaned every day - plenty of hot water for showers and dishwashing. Site sits just back of the river but we had no bother from mosquitos. There are lovely walks from the site along the river into the city which has an interesting history but we found expensive although the spa water is very drinkable and free, the locals carry it away by the gallon. This is a city site and once you have visited the city there\'s not much to stay for. Never the less this is a pleasant site and if I was in the area I would use it again.
Very unfriendly staff. No map or info given on arrival. We do not speak much French. Next day when trying to find more info re area the older gentleman said to us in a dreadful loud voice. SPEAK FRENCH. We were very upset. My husband did try to speak french. I got the impression that they do not like English people Would never go back to this site.
Most French sites are very friendly.
Thank you for your comment, I am very surprised by your reaction. Are you sure to not be deceived camping because I\'m not old (50 years) I have no recollection of having been rude to you, if it is really the case I apologize. It is true that with humor, I always try to speak French to our customers and this is generally well accepted.friendly. Nicolas.
Pitches reasonable size, quiet location. Limited food available and no restaurant within easy reach. Never seen so many Mosquitos as soon as the sun went down and they were still there in the morning!
Great location and easy to find. Very well maintained site with spotless ablutions. Great river side walk to Vichy which is a lovely town to explore. Lovely surroundings and friendly staff. A very pleasant experience.
