The owner is a real, proud Basque. He should also be proud of the campsite. At the front there are pitches on a small lake with a quiet area for swimming, sunbathing and fishing. Indoor swimming pool! Campsite 20 km from Biarritz and 3 km from St. Jean de Luz.

Nice camping with a lake and beach inside. Good covered and heated pool. We stayed in the pitches near the reception that had ground floor because it rained heavly, but the camping has very nice grassed pitches with views to the lake. We will comeback.
positives are lovely reception, close to motorway, heated swimming pool, tennis court, huge lake and order croissants egg for brekkie. Unortunately this is all outweighed by dirty shower and toilet facilities. Fyi unisex. No soap for washing hands. over priced restaurant .. we should have just ordered the take away pizzas. dogs running around the restaurant with owners not paying any attention . No changing rooms at swimming pool.
Brilliant site for a stopover as so close to the motorway, but would stay for longer next time as its a beautiful area with plenty to see and do.
Facilities are immaculate, plenty of hot water at all times. Indoor heated swimming pool included in rate.
We walked down to the harbour, good 2.5 miles on the flat. Lovely cafes, bars and restaurants.
Second Christmas spent at Larrouleta. Everything as it should be, with many improvements from last year especially as regards drainage and electricity as we had a few cut-out issues last year this was all resolved this time round.
Site was especially busy, perhaps due to unseasonably warm weather, but the toilet block remained clean and tidy despite heavy use.
Staff as excellent as last year, with more exploring being done of the surrounding area with trips into the mountains. Who would have believed it, mountain climbing made easy, drive to within 250 metres elevation of the peak, then walk the rest.
Anyway will definitely be back next year as I cannot fault the site in any way and we have now started to scratch the surface of the surrounding area.
Nice location for exploring French and Spanish Basque countries, Socoa, Ciboure, St Jean de Luz and many other beautiful and interesting sites. One can bike to the coast and take a beautiful and bike friendly ride all the way to St Jean de Luz and probably beyond. Pleasant site. It was our second visit to this site and we would go back there.
Much improved with new reception
Wi fi much better
Very clean maintance contuning in autumn
Very committed staff
Good site near supermarkets and bike rides into pretty town of St Jean de Luz. Tennis court and covered pool a bonus out of season. Second stay and useful stopover before going into Spain. Restaurant advertises itself as open - even has menu board - but in two visits, September 2011 and late March 2013 - closed. Nearest restaurant a good walk or drive away.
Difficult to find from guidance notes - just come off motorway at J2, turn left at roundabout, right at next roundabout and then turn right about 250 metres on - signposted. You will then find the site on the right. Staff helpful and speak English - gave us good instructions when we got lost. Good stopover en route north or South and close to motorway. Clean facilities. Fresh croissants for breakfast!
Third time here. It's a nice site. Excellent indoor heated pool which, unlike many, is open all year. Free on pitch Internet. Good shower block, but would benefit from a good clean. Lidl within walking distance. Great surrounds. Nice pitch sizes.
Stayed for 3 nights, staff very friendly and helpful. Nice pitch, toilets very clean. Fresh bread and croissants available fro reception in mornings. Handy for bus stop with bus into St Jean de Luz or Bayonne. Both nice towns to walk / shop in. Owners appear to be continuing to develop and improve site with new drainage, water and electric being installed.
