The site is located on a hill off a busy and fast road with approach from the south only. The access road is quite narrow and twisty. When we arrived there was no one at reception but there were instructions to just find a pitch. The site was fairly quiet and we chose a pitch overlooking the valley. When I did finally locate a member of staff I was informed that the nearest toilet/shower block to our pitch was no longer in use. The site appeared devoid of staff and had little or no atmosphere. I may as well have stayed on an aires. The toilet/showers that were open were adequate although the water was only warm. There is a signed alternative exit from the site for units under 3m width I would strongly advise that drivers examine the route before committing to it, as it is very steep and has a loose gravel surface and exit onto the main road is less than perfect.
We stayed for 5 weeks. Loved the site. Marrianne, Renne, Elina made us feel so welcome. Always smiling and helpful. The horse riding was great and I went riding four times a week. They have very nice tempered horses and ponies. Also you are allowed to be hands on with the horses if you wish. I went to collect them and groom them and tack up. The facilities are excellent. As it was late in the season the baker stopped delivering bread and Marrianne provided her own home made bread. It was really good. Also each week the family made a dinner for campers. It was a four course meal with wine and other drinks. The meal was made using home grown produce as much as possible. Really delicious and better that any of the French restaurants we have been to. Both Rene and Marrianne cook and they are excellent. The swimming pool was in a sheltered spot and lovely and warm even at the beginning of October. The site has a special charm and is quite rural. I really didn't want to leave.
Pretty location, very convenient for Salies (walking distance) and recommend Sauveterre also. Good for dog walking (one of our priorities!) Wi Fi included in lobby. Owner charming. Weather was appalling so it is not fair to comment on wet site. Facilities small but clean.
Reception by staff was first class after that no one could be found for the bar or restaurant which was disappointing. Some of the pitches look good with first class views so ensure you ask for one as our pitch was rather disappointing. Night halt only
It's a farm! Difficult access for large outfits. Gravel tracks & mostly mud/grass pitches. Facilities are adequate at best. Road noise from adjacent busy road. Ok if you want the rustic feel & visit Salies de Bearn.
A lovely site in a beautiful area with lots to do. Very friendly owner with lots of information about walks etc. Good swimming pool. The only drawback there is some road noise, though that might not bother most people - where we live there is no noise - and we stayed four nights.
Visited in march on our way back from Spain. It was very quiet which you would expect at that time of the year. The dutch owner is a lovely lady. The site has a rustic charm and we would visit again.
