Travelling party: Seniors

We stayed at this lovely site as a group be night stopover travelling from the Mediterranean coast to the Charente Maretime. We arrived in 39C heat to find a beautiful, shady site with welcoming staff, two great swimming pools and huge pitches. The site is beautifully landscaped and well presented. The restaurant serves very good local cuisine and great pizzas to at in or take away. You order your bread and pastries for the next morning in reception and it is delivered to a delivery post on your pitch around 8am. We highly recommend this site and will definitely return in the future.

We moved to this site after spending a disappointing six nights at a site near Narbonne. What a contrast.

This family run site is so well kept, clean and tidy with an excellent range of food on the menu and surroundings that make you feel so at home.

We stayed one night on our way south. It had been very wet but the bonus was this site has hardstandings. A very warm welcome, shown to our pitch. We ate in the restaurant - fantastic homemade pizzas. In the morning the croissants were delivered to our door by the owner. What a find!

Travelling party: Seniors

Fate brought us to this site after a problem with the towing cable. It was Easter Monday and everywhere was closed. Fortunately, this site was fairly close to the ‘aire’ where we discovered the problem so we arrived on the day of opening. A nice family run site who are very helpful. There are chickens, rabbits and goats free to roam behind a fenced area. Good size pitches. The millpond which becomes a stream was behind our pitch. The water tap and electricity supply was next to the pitch. The ‘sanitaire’ was nearby with good hot showers. Toilet paper provided. Depending on the time of day washing up water varied from lukewarm to hot. Washing machine and tumble dryer available, with a token purchased from reception. The swimming pools were closed in low season. Free WIFI. Snack and bar. We had fish and chip supper on our last night. On recommendation we visited some lovely places in the area including a stroll along the Canal du Midi which runs past Agen. If passing through we would certainly return.

We are looking forward to returning to Le Moulin de Mellet having spent many stays there over the last 5 years (covid permitting!!). It is a very friendly site that is well integrated with its surrounding community. The emplacements are lovely with plenty of shade when needed. Highly recommend!!
