Large campsite on sand in pines but well kept. Facilities a bit tired at the end of the season. Direct access to surf beach. Lots of easy cycling from campsite on well marked routes. Lots of facilities, i.e. restaurant, decent shop, snack bar. Great site for families with young children. Will definitely come back.
Stayed 6 nights in our 7.5 metre motorhome. Lovely campsite in a great location. Some of the pitches are very sandy, be careful we got stuck in the sand on our first choice pitch. The pool complex is lovely. The camp shop is one of the best we have been to. The bar restaurant is good, food OK for a campsite. L'amelie plage ( a really nice wide beach suitable for swimming and surfing) is about 1K walk from the site, as although the site is on a beach, you can't now access it. There are a few bars and restaurants at L'Amelie, including a lovely hotel restaurant. There is a lovely off road cycle path to Soulac, which is a nice little town with a great indoor market or the other way to Montalivet on the sea with a couple of snack bars The only downside was that there was only one motorhome service point which gave water and waste disposal and chemical disposal. There were no separate water points anywhere. There was a security guard at night when reception was closed
We were the first visitors for 2014. Friendly and helpful staff - it felt a bit like a holiday camp. There was hard standing for our motorhome. The toilet/shower facilities were new and kept very clean.
We had quite a nice meal in the on site restaurant. Surprisingly well stocked on site shop.
Unfortunately there had been a lot of weather damage to the local coast and we could not get access to the nearby beach. We walked into Soulac (50 minutes along the road) and had pleasant walk back most of the way on the beach (cannot do this at high tide).
