A charming quiet site in beautiful surroundings. Large pitches with hedges, small shop, bar and food service and excellent canoeing is available beside the site. The staff are excellent and friendly and this site is much cheaper than the larger, noisy, crowded site of Soleil Plage next door. Wi-Fi is free low season as is tennis. There are many lovely towns and villages to visit locally.
Excellent small site, with exceptionally clean toilets which even smell nice! The pitches are a really generous size with lots of choice for shade, semi shade and some more open. The pool is a good size and heated (slightly) which is unusual in the Dordogne. Very close to Sarlat with easy cycle rides, being slightly hilly in places. No steep ones unless you go to Domme which is a nightmare climb on a bike but worth it for the view. The family owners are very relaxed and helpful, also running a canoe hire and allow you to choose your own pick up times, unlike some others which have fixed times and can therefore ruin the relaxation of a leisurely trip down the river. They are also cheaper than the competition.
There was also free wifi and bread ordered at reception with a small shop on site.
We have stayed at the neighbouring Soleil Plage site which has smaller pitches and is often overcrowded and very commercial. Overall, after 5 weeks touring on this trip, and many previous visits to France and the Dordogne, we believe La Boysse is the best site we have used, but keep it to yourself please!
Excellent site, quiet private pitches with lots of trees and hedges. Next to the river with a small beach for swimming and canoeing. Lovely swimming pool on the site. Short cycle rides to several places of interest. Bar and restaurant closed in September.
One of the quietest sites we have stayed on. The staff could not have been more helpful. We have had problems with sites during this exceptionally wet spring in France but we were aloud to park on a little road next to a nice pitch. Nice walks to local villages. Quite different to the more commercial site next door. We preferred the peace and quiet of this lovely site with excellent facilities. It was out of season so we were not able to try the food on site.
This is our second visit and all I said in June 2014 still applies. An exceptional campsite if you want peace and quiet off season. The staff remain cheerful and willing to help with everything in spite of it being end of season when they close down next Saturday for the winter. Only quibble is that you can't order bread for next day this late in the season. Will hopefully return next year.
Campsite good, picked wrong pitch too close to the road, on our departure realised the other toilet facilities further on the campsite a lot better and cleaner. Swimming pool very clean.
Lovely site, beautiful location, right on River Dordogne. Nearest supermarket in Sarlat which is 5 miles on bikes. Worth the hills for the lovely town.
This is one of the best sites in the area. The pitches are of good size, in peaceful surroundings by the river. The staff were very helpful, cheerful and polite. This is an ideal site for visiting the Dordogne with the added bonus of canoe hire on site with pickup provided.
In my opinion this site although only 3 star in far superior to the 5 star next door - le soleil plage - where we stayed last year and I would recommend it to everyone.
One of the best sites we have ever visited in France. Excellent pitches which are well maintained. Reception staff are superb. Quite site and has a good ambience for relaxation. Will come again.
Very pleasant site at an excellent price. The site next door had smaller pitches and not as good views. The staff were very good and the pool is lovely.
