Agree with previous positive comments, this is certainly a top site. Close to visiting the caves at Lascaux.
A beautifully designed and maintained eco friendly campsite . The owners and their staff really went out of their way to make our holiday perfect . the owners will take you cycling , running or walking on certain days . There is also a car hire service that was fantastic for us to visit some of the many local attractions , as we have a motorhome . We look forward to a short visit in September to see how the gardens have developed .
This is a singularly incredible site and I don’t think anybody could legitimately argue against that statement. The welcome on arrival was so warm, friendly and relaxing. We were encouraged to find a pitch and when we’d set up, call back at reception and then onto the bar patio to receive a free welcome drink, nice touch. The site has been laid out and developed over many years of hard work and planning and it shows. The pitches are all in a separate cul-de-sac and are of a good size, of course they do vary in this regard but none seemed small. The hedges, trees and gardens are immaculately kept and are beautiful. The two sanitary blocks are fantastic and are open sided with a lovely planting arrangement in the middle. All the facilities are great, I particularly liked the sanitary chemical toilet emptying points, which were easy to use and clean! The pools are superb, basically 1 inside (with sliding roof) and 3 more outside. There’s 1 for small children another for bigger ones and the last for adults. There’s also a water feature for the children. The bar/ restaurant is well decorated and laid out with a patio area outside, a nice place to enjoy a beer/wine, with the swallows swooping around the tables. There’s also a well stocked shop.
All the staff and that’s not an exaggeration, are friendly and take the time to greet you and give you a smile. To top it all, on paying before our departure we were given a bottle of wine to say “Thank you for staying with us”.
Lastly, a look at any map will show you the huge amount of pre-historical sites in the area.
There is very little that I could add to the previous reviews of this site. It ranks in the top tier of caravan sites that we have stopped on in France and we’ve been coming for 32 years. The welcome in reception was warm and helpful and after we’d chosen our pitch, we went to the bar and received a free welcome drink from the Dutch owners. The site is mature and has many separate little areas in various cul de sacs. The trees and hedges are varied and well trimmed. The lighting is just right and not at all intrusive at night. The toilet blocks, of which there are two, are immaculate and so very well thought out. The pools of which there are 4, cater for all families and ages, from the very shallow for toddlers to the deeper for adults. I would describe the inside and bigger outside pools as lounging as apposed to ‘lap’ pools, but they are great. The facilities in the pool house are also of a very high standard and you also get a hot tub, steam shower and sauna! Roque Saint Christophe is an easy walk away and an equally easy drive to Les Eyzies-de-Tayac where you’ll find the National Prehistoric Museum and many more world famous Préhistoire sites. Also the fantastic new Lascaux IV is just up the road in Montignac and is a must to visit. Sarlat and the bastide towns are also within easy reach. On a more practical note, there is an Intermarché a short drive away towards Montignac So, the site is fantastic and located in a superb area. Oh, and I nearly forgot, we got a bottle of wine when we left as a thank you from the owners!!
This site is always a good place to stay. Excellent facilities friendly and helpful staff . The weather was mixed when we stayed there but there is a lovely indoor pool and hot tub you can use. Lots of different walks in the area and a great place to stay in the summer. A place we would always return to.
Great site and facilities 4 pools, sauna and steam room all included. Excellent happy hour at the bar will definitely return.
Stayed over a month this year and despite the weather we enjoyed the every day of the visit. This is still the best site that we visit in France and will always be included in our annual itinerary.
Nice site with a lovely new indoor pool complex. But beware of the menu du jour displayed on the board outside the restaurant, it is changed at around 5pm long after most people book their tables. So you may not get what you expect to eat.
This is a great site. The indoor pool, jacuzzi and steam room are on a par with a hotel. The water was warm in mid September. There is a small shop on site which sells the basics and the bar had a happy hour from 5-6 pm. The only thing that is poor is the wifi. The process for accessing the wifi is cumbersome and the speed offered is 128 kb/ps. This is like going back in time and is pretty much useless for surfing the Web. They will sell you a high speed connection at a price. It's a shame they hold back on the wifi offering as it's the only thing that detracts from an otherwise excellent site.
Simply the BEST!!! Of all the sites we use in France this is the best. It has manicured hedges and the cleanest sanitary facilities of anywhere we visit. We visited in 2014 and 2015 and are booked for 2016 along with many of the other returning visitors.
The pool is great and the local places to visit too many to describe - just ask Ge or Ellen.
Happy hour with prices reduced by 50% is a good excuse to meet your fellow travelers and to exchange info on where to visit, eat and shop.
