Stayed Sept 2019 for a week in caravan. Good toilets and showers. Helpful staff. Easy walk into the beautiful town with lots of bars, shops and wine and restaurants. Good cycle rides and walks through the vineyards. Pitches relatively small but this is a buzzing site and very popular and has a good feel. Highly recommend.
Fantastic site, quiet and well maintained, very clean toilet / shower blocks, very helpful staff , who spoke very good English, just a short stroll into the beautiful town of Eguisheim where you can catch a bus to Colmar or cycle in via very quiet back roads. Highly recommend this site.
Situated just some seven minutes walk outside of the exquisite but touristy town of Eguisham. Necessary to pre-book as the site is often full by lunch time and no access is available without reservation. Queues form between 12 and 2 and people are dealt with in order of arrival. Very efficient and patient reception staff ask for details of type and size of outfit, and guests are given a choice of a number of appropriate pitches to choose from by walking to these before admission. This worked reasonably well. Some of the pitches were rather tight and outfits were close together. Sanitary facilities a bit limited for the number of people, but clean. Useful base to explore surrounding area and also several walks are available nearby, including one through the vineyards off the campsite.
Accepted a secured ACSI Card booking. Stayed two nights. Arrival parking is to right of reception - not obvious nor easy for caravans. Staff friendly and helpful. Pitch choice is done on foot. Adequate size, clearly defined pitches. Toilet block clean and modern. Local vintner put on wine tasting while we were there. Convenient to Colmar. Local village of Eguisheim is a delight. Would definitely stay here again.
Well situated for Colmar and the lovely little village.
Very helpful reception.
Cycling from the campsite .
The site is located in a superb position on the edge of Eguisheim. It is an easy 10 minute walk into the village. Lovely walks from the site through the vineyards and up to the castles. The pitches were quite small and rather neglected.
Another good stopover site but with a difference. Situated in a former German area of France (pre 1920) the area is dominated by vineyards and extremely pretty tyrolean type villages, the closest of which is Eguisheim, walkable easily from the site. The scenery is breathtaking, the air is clear and the weather is generally pretty good. The site has average size pitches, enough for car caravan (7.3) and awning with still room to sit out in. It is gently sloping but terraced and access is good. Mainly Dutch (transit site to South coast) with some German, French and British. The sole toilet block can get busy but generally copes with the numbers even when the site is packed. Wifi is rubbish but free - that's even what the owners say - but if you do get on cherish it! The village has a good grocers, bread shop and several restaurants (bit pricey) but there is also a superb Hyper-U only 2 miles away in Colmar with a Lidl close by (better than the Leclerc). If you can stop more than one night and explore the area - Colmar is worth a visit to the old town.
