Location: About 3 miles South of Duga Resa on the banks of a lovely river. From the motorway be sure to take Exit 3. Your sat nav may recommend taking Exit 4. DO NOT follow this as you will end up on the equivalent of cart tracks. Exit 3 through Karlovach and Duga Resa is straight forward and the site is well signposted.
The site is quite large but when we were there at the beginning of April 2015 only a few pitches near the bar were open. These were perfectly fine, on grass and with a 16 amp power supply. Water taps seemed to be quite sparse within the main camping areas so you may have a walk on your hands. Even in early April the bar was open serving food and drinks. Whilst we were there it got quite busy at the weekend when locals use it as a meeting point. This wasn’t a problem but you might like to know. Reception has various tourist information leaflets including a small booklet with local hiking trails. The staff are all very friendly and speak excellent English.
The facilities have been recently refitted and cleaned to a very high standard. Regular trains stop in the village and will take you directly to Zagreb or you can take the car which is about a 1 hour drive. Very nice, well managed and maintained site in a beautiful riverside location.
There is a small village shop a 5 min walk away selling daily essentials including bread.
This site seems to be mostly used as a stopover, which is a pity because it should be used for a few days at least. It is located about 30 mins. north of the main motorway that runs to the south of Croatia (Split and so on). It is also a handy place to stay if visiting the Plitvice Water Falls just over 1 hour away. The site staff and owners are very friendly and can offer help on places to visit. Some of the pitches can become waterlogged and for that reason I have marked the pitches down, but I understand this is being addressed and this shouldn't be an issue from 2015. The food in the restaurant is very good and prices are low (about £7.50 for a main course and a pint of beer or glass of wine £1.35). Breakfast £3.30. There is also a bar/restaurant adjoining the campsite - same prices. The toilets are as good as any in Europe and in keeping with the rest of the campsite spotlessly clean. If we are in the area again I would pick this campsite above any others.
Thanks Mattay, you made our stay very memorable. Great surroundings, great staff, clean and excellent facilities. I will recommend you to my colleagues when they travel to your area of Croatia.
A very friendly camp site, in great surroundings, very clean showers and toilets. Food at the restaurant is good quality and value for money. The entrance is a bit narrow and steep but should not be a problem. It is a good place to stay for a visit to Zagreb or the lakes at Plitvice. I have put a short video on You Tube "Camp Slapic Duga Resa".
A nice site. Facilities really modern. Wi-Fi free when we were there, though sometimes just near reception. It's an 80 main train journey into Zagreb. Washing was cheap for Croatia.
A real gem of a site. Large pitches, two excellent toilet blocks, frequent water points, pleasant bar/restaurant with a terrace overlooking the river and very low prices. The staff are friendly and keep the facilities immaculate.
The site is on the very pretty River Mreznica which has small waterfalls, rocks, deep pools for swimming, and shallow pools for kids to paddle in. The river bank and campsite restaurant and playground are open to the public and it can get quite busy, but we didn't find it a problem. All campers have their own keys to the showers to prevent day trippers using them.
There's no shop, but fresh bread daily from reception, and there are two supermarkets in Duga Resa 4 km away. Zagreb is close enough for a visit but we enjoyed simply relaxing in the warm sun beside the river!
Lovely site with such clean facilities and friendly staff. Big pitches with shade, electric and water by a lovely river, couldn't have asked for more. Work was being done on the roads getting to the site so a bit bumpy but worth the while.
