Second time at this site. Staff are very helpful and respectful and pitches are level and spacious. The beach front, (a nice stroll away) offers excellent food shops, bars and restaurants. It is relaxing and chilled. The tram is on the doorstep to take you along the coast - easy on and off, with plenty to hop off to see. Facilities on site are simple, but everything we require as Motorhomers. Sadly, we do not speak Belgian, but the staff are more than willing to try their best in English. We prefer to use our own loo paper and are happy to conceal it on our person (for Heaven\'s sake!!)
Highly not recommended. Rude obnoxious staff. Horrendous sanitation smell across the site. Would look elsewhere in future, very disappointing.
mostly set up as semi-permanent site providing good access to the town and long sandy - tram service provides good access along the coast - pitches level and close to facilities - friendly and helpful owner - shower block ok and clean but lacking some details (paper etc) - ACSI gave us shower token, water temperature ok but water pressure / quantity poor - whilst a bit far from Calais does make a good last stop before final homeward leg
This was the only site that we have stayed on that remained resolutely empty for our stay and why was very quickly apparent. ACSI price includes a daily shower; here the daily shower was cold. If you wanted a hot one you paid extra and then had to keep pressing a button despite the payment for 4 minutes. There is no paper in the loos, neither is there soap or any way of drying you hands if you don't take it with you. Despite helpful staff we could not in all conscience recommend this site and will NEVER return
Decent site very close to a great beach and waterfront. The pitches are a good size for Belgium. Showers are extra. There is a variety of things to amuse children, including a paddock of goats, who seemed to have a permanaent audience of young and old alike! While not the best site we have visited, I would defintely return.
Was expecting better in Belgium than France, but this site charges for the showers! 1 euro! Take your toilet paper, soap and towel to toilets as these are also not supplied, the machines are there for soap! But not used! The staff were very rude when we we enquired about showers, we asked when we phoned if the site club was open, we were told yes, when we got there it was closed completely and was full of machinery and bits. Luckily The town of Wetende is a short walk through the back of the park, where there are plenty of wine bars and restaurants to chose from. The beach is lovely here and there are numerous shops along the prom to look into. The Tram runs from the centre into Oostende, but you have to buy your ticket from the office, not on the tram. Oostende is a bit like Oxford street though. All the big shops are here including McDonalds for the children. There is also a lovely boat harbour here. Do Check your pitch before parking as we found several large pieces of glass on ours
The reason why I was there for 4 days was a good location. 10-15 minutes walk to the beach and the fantastic beach promenade. Every mornig from 8 fresh bread and other necessities.
