We used this campsite for 3 nights in mid September following reasonable reviews on ACSI. We found it ok but it was lacking in a few areas and needed quite a few things renewing or fixing. Locks missing on shower doors, no soap/hand dryers or paper towels in toilets, showers go cold after the first couple of button pushes and the lights switch off every 10 to 15 seconds leaving you in the dark. The washing up sinks had lots of taps either missing or broken. The pitches were reasonably flat and nicely grassed with water and electric hook up close by. Only a short walk into a nice town with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Only ever saw one member of staff working there and he was quite friendly. We would probably use again but it would only be for a one night stop off.
The first view of the camping site is fine. Poor English spoken in the reception. Bad smell in the toilet building. The toilet were not cleaned the first 24 hours of our stay. No hot water at the dishwashing places. Very hot water in the shower and washing cabines not possible to mix with cold water.
It could be a nice place if a few improvements were made.
Often stop here for one or two nights when travelling out or home. Access is very easy from the E411 and the local main roads. It has a slightly sloping field of reasonably sized pitches with low hedge around each pair. Each pitch has electric and water, although the water is push button and therefore difficult to use to feed your supply direct. There isn\'t a children\'s playground as far as I am aware, but there is a large local authority one just across the access road from the site. We don\'t use the on site showers and toilets, although from what I\'ve seen of them they look in good condition and appear to be kept quite clean. There is easy access to an adjacent cycleway which goes about 3 miles (5 kms) east towards Jamelle and 11 miles (18 kms) west to Houyet along an old railway line. This is for the most part either tarmac or concrete. The town itself is quite pretty although small, with some nice shops and restaurants which you can walk to in about 10 minutes. The only downside we have encountered is that the town often holds music festivals in the main street and these can be noisy and it\'s not unknown for them to run until 03.00 in the morning, and loud enough to deprive you of sleep. So worth enquiring when arriving whether any festivals are on during your stay which might affect you.
Have used this site several times before and found to be very good (even recommended it). Stayed again this year but what a difference toilets smelled, shower water luke warm, dishwashing area not clean. Also several of the pitch electrics did not work which meant plugging into a different pitches supply. Staff seemed distant and unfamiliar with the site processes. To cap it all, at the time of paying the day before departing we were told we could not leave until 9:00am in the morning - on our last day we had to move the caravan onto an external pitch (before 5 as the office closed plus electricity on the new pitch was tripped at the time of moving) which meant we lost a day exploring the region. We needed to leave early to get to calais. Will likely look for a different site next time passing Namur.
The gentleman in reception was friendly and welcoming. The toilet, shower and washing-up facilities were modern but not well cleaned or maintained - they were not cleaned or re-stocked for the two days we were here. The pitches were good and there was both water and electricity on each pitch. There is a restaurant / bar on site which appears to be well used by the locals / site residents - but this was open, busy and noisy until late. It was a shame that the campsite was not supervised after the reception shut as it felt more like a stellplatz and less like a campsite after that - it was a bit too rowdy. The free access to the swimming pool nearby was welcome in the heat - & the campsite reception sells the swimming caps. This could be such a nice site with a bit more cleaning and supervision.
Nice clean and pleasant site with hedged pitches.
Toilet blocks have key code doors, clean and well maintained.
Very short walk into town with good range of amenities and bars / cafes.
ALDI on the way into town, walkable from the site.
Good cycle ways route marked. Would come back again.
a very nice site convenient to small town, excellent toilet \\ shower facilities. A very nice place to use as stop over site as we did on way to Calais. Supermarket easily accessible within 1 km.
Well kept site with good pitches. Restaurant wasn\'t very good with expensive lack lustre food
Good site with large pitches each with water shared with a neighbour. Bit noisy with people from static caravans at the back of the site. Town nearby with bars and restaurants within easy walking distance up a hill. Not much to do in the town but plenty in surrounding area.
Very pleasantly situated and well kept site. Good facilities and nice stroll into a small town. Reception pleasant, but had to go back in to ask for site information etc, but no major problem when I asked. Key pad entry to facilities and lots of security systems on site. Interesting and pleasant drive to the town (Autumnal colours through the woods were breathtaking). We will return, as a nice stopover.
