looks nice as you drive in
then it\'s like sangatte
maybe ok for stopover
We stayed here on a stopover from Dunkirk. We arrived very late but the lady, who spoke no English, was welcoming and helpful. The pitch was quite level, the shower was hot but the toilets did smell of urine. My main criticism was it was extremely difficult to find. The sat nav didn\'t know where it was so we followed the advice in the ACSI book and followed directions. Just as it was getting dark we knew we were going away from the site and had to do a 3 point turn in a farmer\'s lane with a caravan!!
We came out of our way to stay here because the description sounded so good. On arrival we discovered that there was in fact no restaurant because nobody had applied to fill the job vacancy. The only hard standing was next to the toilets, and when we reached them we understood why the receptionist had cringed - they stank of effluent. The play areas would have been adequate but for the litter in the sand - drinks cans and broken glass. Very, very disappointed. The only positive was that the bar was nice.
Stayed just the one night on the way back towards Dunkirk, pitch okay and quiet, toilet block and showers resemble something French from the 1960s, cold water only in the sinks, no seat or separate dressing area in the showers, not particularly clean, outside door almost non existent, and no heating so don\'t come in the Winter! The site is tatty with loads of static caravans some of which have seen far better days. No urgency to return here.
Seemed to the only ones on the site apart from a few residences. The lady who booked us in was efficient though I felt I was an inconvenience to her. The toilet and shower block though clean were freezing! So no heating then! Just an overnight stop recommended.
Entrance was impressive but it went down hill after that. We intended to stay 2 nights but only stayed one.
stayed only one night as a stop over on route to italy. booked this months prior and didn even have to pre pay. we were very tired from our journey and we were met with a friendly gentleman who remembered me emailing. cant comment on the surroundings or pool as didn stay long enough to explore. facilities very clean. quiet site and would recommend.
very reasonably priced i thought.
We stayed at this campsite over the weekend in early September. The welcome was OK. The campsite was untidy, toilets dirty, shower with tokens OK with plenty of time. When washing pots had to pay for hot water. Noise level similar to Spain. Local shop nearby open 7am to 7pm, the best thing about this site was the local shop. Would not return.
We used this site as an overnight stop on the way to the Tunnel as it's near the toll-free/cheap diesel route through Belgium and Luxembourg. It's a quiet rural site located in huge grounds mostly filled with statics. We were given a nice spacious pitch on gravel with EHU, water and a toilet/shower block close by. The toilet block is tired, not very clean, drafty and basic. Didn't see any other facilities as we were miles from the main building. Ok for a one night stop.
I cannot comment on the quality of this site when it is open, as we stayed there in early October when it is effectively closed. It is advertised as open until the end of October, but when we stayed in early Otober all facilities were closed. The toilets, which are basic to say the least, were not effectively cleaned, and all advertised facilities were closed, though the full price was charged.
This is not what you would expect as a site for touring caravans as most space is taken up by ex-touring vans complete with awnings and gazebos which have clearly been there for a long time and will never move again. It has the appearance of a shanty town.
