No washing up facilities, no hot water in toilet block, but nice position near a lovely town. Very quiet when we were there.
A very relaxed site which, although extremely busy when we were there, did not stretch the facilities. The town of La Roche En Ardennes is 500 metres from the site and has many restaurants, bars and a supermarket. Excellent site.
We arrived at this site and were asked at the reception if we would like 4 amp or 10 amp power at no extra charge. The main site is 4 amp but there is another site Le Grillon around 400 metres down a small lane that has 10 amp. They both seem to be run and owned by the same people. We chose the 10 amp site. The reception at Le Grillon always seemed to be closed so if you wanted anything you had to go to the main reception at the entrance to the Benelux site. Between the 2 sites there are around 500 pitches with yet another site further down the lane which seems a different entity. Having said that even though there were loads of caravans pitched there didn’t seem to be anyone around. Most of them must be seasonal pitches. It felt a bit like a ghost town! The site is on the banks of the river and we saw people fishing.
The showers were reasonable but not overly clean. The showers are run by tokens which for 1 Euro gives just enough water for a short shower. However, the water
We stayed here for 2 nights in June in our campervan.
We arrived without pre-booking and we were allocated a pitch overlooking the river. We liked this site and would definitely return. It's very quiet and in a beautiful setting. There were plently of toilets and wash basins (ladies in cubicles with power points). No toilet paper or soap. Showers, by token, ran for plenty of time. Washing up is cold water only, unless you pay for a token for hot water. We didn't use this facility, preferring to wash up in the van.
La Roche en Ardenne is a lovely town and there are lots of marked walking paths in the area, we bought a map at the tourist office.
