This must be one of the best sites in the book. There only seems to be one bad review, which does not do justice to such a good site. The food in the restaurant was excellent and if you come back again next year for 10 nights you get FREE wi-fi, which was much appreciated and the reception of this was excellent wherever you went on site. The staff are obliging and helpful....the beer is Zillertaller and very good to drink. Walking for the dog from the site is outstanding with so many walks. Within 2 kilometers there are so many other walks by taking the lift up from Mutters. Free bus service or go to Mutters or Natters for a delightful train ride down into Innsbruck....don't miss out on the Sacher Café in the old town!! The chocolate Sachertorte is my favourite. We shall return again....this was our third time.
Amazing site for ambience, surroundings, staff and facilities. Will use again.....and again ! Only down point was a personnel one of manoeuvring our Motorhome across the narrow access road that our pitch was on !
We stayed here for one night, which was long enough.
This is a large and busy campsite. We hadn't pre-booked and by the time we arrived there weren't many spots available. We were offered the last caravan stand (for our tent and vehicle) or a spot on the tent meadow. We opted for the caravan stand as it was close to the reception building and within the wi-fi range. Then we got sticker-shock from the cost of wi-fi. Two Euros bought you one hour of wi-fi access or you could get five hours for 5 Euros. A long stay here could get expensive!
The camp has a pizza restaurant located on the lake/pond. It didn't have any vegetarian options, so we drove into Innsbruck for dinner. We returned to camp about 9.00pm and an 'Oompah' band was playing over at the restaurant. We didn't need to to go to the restaurant - you could hear the music all across the campsite.
The site has rules about no noise at night but they don't seem to be enforced. A large group of teenagers were cursing and generally talking loudly on the terrace above reception. I had to speak to them after 11.00pm to ask them to be quiet.
The site also has a rule that prohibits vehicles leaving camp during the night - also not enforced. I was disturbed at 3.45am by a camper who was packing up to leave, with lots of noise and slamming of doors before driving out of the site. Then, at 6.30am, a caravan nearby packed up and left with the associated noise. So, not much sleep for me.
Very nice camping. Beautiful views. Free transport to Innsbruck is a plus for this camping. I would like to visit Innsbruck again. Amazing city. I enjoyed to stay in your camping. Constant weather update is very useful. :)
Hi My wife and i stayed on this site in june, it is without doubt the best site we have ever stayed on .the toilet block and seperate cubicals are as good as a top class hotel and spotlessly clean .the staff are excellent, and the view,s breathtaking,
What an amazing site. It certainly is 5*. Amazing value for money. Would find it hard to top this site. Staff very helpful and spoke excellent English, facilities amazing with wonderful showers. And hairdryers were very good. Excellent shop, washing facilities and even a dog bath!! Set in wonderful scenic area, will definately go back. Can't wait. There should be more sites like this. Excellent value for money and the constant weather update was very helpful. 10 out of 10!!
Site should get 10 out of 10. Wonderful location with terraced pitches round a lake and beautiful views of the mountains. Prices varied according to how close to the lake you wanted to be, most pitches had electric, water and wifi - good value using the ASCI card. The shower block was "fantastic" it was like a hotel. Toilets and other facilities also excellent you will be spoilt for other sites. Very helpful people at reception who spoke good english. Meal at restaurant very good value and also good cocktail at site bar.
We took the free bus into Innsbruk. Restaurant and shop only take cash although you can put on the tab if you don't pay for site till leaving. Would definitely use again if in area.
Whilst the main sanitary block is indeed luxurious, we were placed on the hill overlooking the site and the sanitary block nearest this section is only "Reasonable" and needs to be updated to be anywhere near the quality of the other block. Surroundings were lovely. Motorhome facilities weren't the best as we needed to reverse into a tight space. Also really situated for use when exiting the site.
Maybe the best site I've ever been to! Ideally located if you are hopping from Germany to Italy via Austria this site couldn't be better in any way. Nestled in a beautiful alpine meadow above Innsbruck, 5 km away, the views are always stunning. The staff are amazingly helpful and I can't really find the words to describe the toilet and shower block suffice to say that they may well be the best I have been in my whole life - including hotels! It's worth a trip just to use the showers :-) You get a free bus from the site into Innsbruck and, from there, you could explore the rest of Austria easily by train. A truly wonderful site!
An excellent site situated in the hills above Innsbruck, this is a great site for exploring the beautiful countryside or the city below. Outstanding facilities, especially in the state of the art main block, with warm and welcoming staff that adds to the good feeling at the site; the free bus facility to the city is a real bonus. Walking and mountaining biking directly from the site is excellent.
