A perfect camping if you want to visit Vienna. Good value for money (off season), warm welcoming and friendly stuff. It is close to rhe train station and bus stop towards Vienna. Clean shower and restrooms. The camping is also well maintained. Off season there is no shop inside the location, but there is a groceries store (SPAR) no more than 200 meters away. At the reception I received all the information needed for my stay (transport cards info, ZOO program) and I received a lot of broshures with things to do in our vacation there. There is also an indoor pool and SPA next to the camping. I realy felt like a valuable customer there. For sure I will stay there next time.
Nice for a couple of days if you want to see Wienna.
As mentioned above, is a typical overnight camping site and is clearly centred on people who are on the move during the day. Pitches dimensions are normal. Tight indeed, but enough for caravan+tent+car. Anyway, Moschitos don\'t let you stay outside!
The cycle route to Vienna is super! Public transportation I don\'t find it convenient because the cost is high, 9,20euros\\day\\pers.
Tourist tax \\day\\pers. Washing machine you have to pay (5kg).
The bathroom is not likeble, but ok. A lot of moschitos here also.
This being a city site I was a bit wary about staying. I needn\'t have worried. We had an excellent stay.
We approached from the direction of Melk using the sat nav and didn\'t have any problems.
The site is urban in a large suburb of Vienna. Although it is near the railway and major roads we were not disturbed by any noise. Which was a surprise.
Check in was excellent with good English spoken and lots of info including public transport provided. They accept the CC card.
Fresh water taps were available at the end of every road. The only grey waste water point was at the motor home service point. Pitches were of a decent size. I found one big enough for my 7.5. caravan, car and awning.
Washing machines and dryers are available and reasonably priced.
The toilets in the main reception block look like they have been recently renovated and are heated. The other block a bit dated but both very clean and well maintained.
There is a small restaurant on site which was well used. There are other cafes a short walk away in the town. There are also a few small shops in the town. However search on google maps and you\'ll find a range of larger supermarkets about a mile away including Eurospar and Hofer.
In the second half of May the site was almost full every night.
The train station is a stone\'s throw from the site and the bus station is a five minute walk away. The town is not within the central travel zone. But you can buy a ticket which includes travel within the central zone from the train station or from the bus driver.
A weekly ticket from Klosterneuburg Kierling and including unlimited travel in the central zone costs €25.10. However it runs Monday to Monday. So if you buy it on Wednesday you only get 5 days not 7 but it still works out cheaper than buying return day tickets at €9.30. You get the bus or train to Heiigenstadt station and change onto the underground which is very efficient. It takes 30 mins from the campsite in to the very heart of Vienna. Trains run every 30 minutes and buses every 10 minutes. We bought tickets which were never inspected and didn\'t need validating.
We found more than enough to occupy us for 5 days.
Beautiful setting, conveniently located for travel into the centre of Vienna. Very well maintained and friendly campsite.
This camping site was packed. No spare pitches at all during our last night. Make reservations. Immaculate as expected, 300 metres to the train, 15 mins to Vienna. Nice bar/restaurant. Scores an 8.5
This camping spot is the ideal basecamp if you want to explore Vienna. Bus stops to the city centre (and surroudings) are nearby (walking distance). The dutch speaking (!) staff is very friendly.
Comunque consigliato
Well located for visiting Vienna, a short walk takes you to either bus or Rail station. A large site but well managed and with very helpful english speaking staff. The motorhome pitches were a little tight but manageable, the town itself and the Monastery well worth a visit.
This is a city site and was very busy even in May. Pitches are small and closely-packed. It is well placed for visiting Vienna: train station and buses only a few minutes' walk away. You must buy a ticket into Vienna and a separate ticket for use within the city. Trains and buses are very frequent and continue until late at night. The downside is that the railway can be clearly heard from the site, though the freight trains seemed to stop overnight and the noise didn't bother us overmuch. The staff at reception are very helpful and supply an information sheet on arrival, including details of transport tickets, etc. Despite it being busy, the high-quality toilets and showers were kept remarkably clean. Washing machines and tumble dryers were reasonably priced. Access is easy. Apart from Vienna itself, the nearby monastery in Klosternauburg is well-worth a visit. There's a small Spar supermarket just a short walk away. In total, a surprisingly good city campsite which was kept extremely clean and where the reception staff are very helpful. Ideal for visiting the city, but not a good place to spread out and enjoy a leisurely, van-side evening meal, unless you enjoy sharing it with the inhabitants of the next van!
