Ana gave us a good and friendly welcome on arrival, provided some local information, a look at her restaurant and helped us to find a suitable place to park. We were the only campers there.
As we left she wanted to charge us the middle season rate, not low season as quoted, however, this site was clearly in it\'s out of season mode! There was no one around for the two days or nights we were there, to sell us the home baked bread we had been told about or to open the door to the new washing machine we wanted to use. The only company was a very \'friendly\' dog which bounced up at us whenever we stepped out of our motorhome and remained by its side for the entire first night, waking us on three occasions by continual loud barking. On our first evening we arrived early for a meal at the restaurant. It was closed. There were no shower curtains or toilet paper in the containers in the room. The only means of showering was with a handheld head, the holders had been removed. The washroom and facilities were very clean, once the insects had been evicted from the shower trays. The surroundings and views were good, but the site is certainly not recommended by us for this time of year.

A very relaxing site, the views are amazing, the staff very friendly Anna did all she could to help with our trip to Tomar which is reachable by taxii as we have a 7.5 meter motor home or is an easy journey with a car or scooter. The facilities are lovely and clean with plenty of hot water. We ate in the restaurant one of the evenings and the food is first class, with local produce it made a pleasant change to the usual camp site bars. We were pitched with our friends on the larger plateau, they do have terraces in the trees that would be suitable for smaller motor homes or caravans, We will defiantly make a return visit when we go to Portugal again.

This camping left us with mixed feelings. The view over the lake is very nice, but this is only from the top platform which feels more like a parking. The other spots don\'t seem very accessible for large campervans or homes. There is access to the lake, but it\'s not too amazing. The bathroom facilities were good, and when lights did not work they were immediately repaired. Staff was very kind and helpful, but there was a sense that we really should be eating at their rather expensive restaurant - not for the usual camping budget. There was a lack of facilities for camperhomes, as we overheard that the toiletbox should be emptied in the normal toilets, which I don\'t think should be done. All by all, a strange place that tries to be a camping but is more a fancy restaurant with lake view.
