Travelling party: Couple

This very large site is situated on the island between both parts of the Rhône. Most pitches have tree cover for shade. One side of the site you have a great view of the historic town across the river. Nice pool and helpful reception staff. The facilities are plentiful but basic and water only luke warm, but clean. There is a free ferry that runs every 15 minutes from the island across the river to the must see old town and Pope’s palace.

Fabulous location with easy access to the beautiful city. Reception staff friendly and they accept ACSI. Our pitch was quite spacious. The site is ramshackled. Toilet block unpleasant and no handwash in the toilets. Elsan point is grim. The pitches are not ideal and get muddy very quickly. Lots of shade which make the site dark and cold (ideal for summer). Free ferry 200m left of site entrance.

I have used this campsite before and it hasn’t changed. Easy
walking distance from historic Avignon is still its best feature. The unkempt site and archaic toilet facilities have not changed. Bureaucracy though is at a new level. The young man in reception gives you a complex form to complete. It took on average 10 minutes per person for details that are already on your ACSI card - which could easily be photocopied. This site needs a regeneration

Lovely site within walking distance of the city. Reception staff very helpful. Pitches are spacious and mostly shaded. Sanitary facilities are plentiful in one large building. The site has a shop where you can order your morning baguette (through reception). Close to main bridge into city (48 steps) then stroll across to visit the historical sites, including 5 free museums in the town. Some road noise during the day but very peaceful at night. We didn’t use any sports facility.

We stayed here on 9th November 2023. Toilets and shower are clean and hot even in November. City centre it’s over the bridge, very close. It rained all night and it is not great, some pitches are full of water. Touristic tax is /person and you pay also for kids. The internet is for 4 devices but it works very very slowly, something like 20 years ago, you can’t do anything. Lost money.
